GWW email -- huh??

Did I do something wrong? Just got this, can you please explain what criteria I don't fit? Thanks

From time to time we make an effort to clean up our member database, including those community members who have registered but never made a post on the GWW Community, those members who havent visited the GWW Community in a few months and, those members who have only ever sent private messages on the GWW Community or, those members who havent updated their contact information in a while.

You are receiving this email because one or more of the preceeding criteria matches your account and, because of this, unless you take a few minutes to log in to the GWW Community and make a post on the general forum, your account will be deleted within the next 7 days.

I just checked the contact part of this script and it looks like the first time i use that option (which this is) it will send it out to everyone just to make sure their information is correct.

This is so that the script has a time point on which to base the next time it gets used so, for example, if i run it next month and set the timeline to '3 months' none of you folks who have checked your contact details are correct today will receive this email in future unless, you fit one of the other criteria being used

Hope that clears up why some of our active GWW Community members are receiving this email, myself included :thumbsup:

Yup, you just need to login to your control panel and double check that your info is correct, if nothing needs changing, dont change anything

OKAY, okay, ok - i get it - I finally understand. YEAH WELL...

Lee must not like me since I didn't get an email from GWW in ages *wipesTears* I only get spam for Viagra, Cialis, straight porn and "Climax gel for women" - as if i needed those.. *blowsNose*

You should ask your doctor if Cialis is right for you!

Just a piece of friendly criticism, you should phrase these emails differently in the future, nobody likes the feeling of being threatened with deletion, especially if they are active members of the community.

And also, why do non-active members need to be deleted? Wouldn't it be better for marketing purposes and the forums to allow people who haven't been active in awhile to come back and post again?

Just some food for thought.

I think there's another thing wrong thats somehow related. I'm getting a zillion notifications of replys to posts.

Usually, you just get one until you go and look at the thread before you receive anymore.
