Lance Bass (from NSYNC) Comes Out

I may be the only one who even cares about this, but I thought it was interesting that former NSYNC boy band member Lance Bass has finally decided to end years of rumors about his sexuality and is coming out officially in People Magazine this week. He will be on the cover, so it will be hard to miss.



I even made a blog entry on my blog www.goldiesgaygalaxy.com about it because I at least found it newsworthy.

I wonder if all those young girls will tear down their Nsync posters they have in their bedrooms now that 20% of the band likes guys!

As far as I know, the group is done. They are all off on their own solo projects and have no plans to get back together... But you never know I suppose!

And as I read this article now, I'm more surprised to see that he is dating Reichen ffrom The Amazing Race. Reichen's last boyfriend (Chip) was masculine, strong and rugged. Lance is a far, FAR cry from any of those. Not to mention that Reichen is pretty butch, himself.

C'est la vie, I suppose... although I knew this about a month ago when my buddy (Rascal Exclusive) Josh Vaughn sent me a pic taken with him and Lance in a gay bar.

Glad he came out. Maybe Justin Timberlake will take the hint and follow suit.

It's true that Bass' coming out won't really have all that much effect on the gay movement. Sadly, people don't put too much stock in celebs whose careers have long since dismantled. Now, if Lance had a new CD coming out or something, it might have some relevance, but that's not the case.

However, we all know how this country works in terms of homosexuality. It makes perfect sense to me that celebs choose to stay in the closet. If my goal was to "make it big," I too would probably be a lot more quiet about my sexuality. It all boils down to what kind of career you hope to have. And there's nothing at all wrong with someone choosing a career first. I have no judgment for those who come out after they've achieved their dreams. Because of the backwards-ass thinking in this country, those who are gay simply cannot achieve those dreams if they are honest about who they sleep with. THAT is what people should be attacking. Not the celebs who just want to have productive, healthy careers. Everything in life comes with some kind of price tag. For celebrities, the price is keeping up appearances. Isn't it sad that we live in that kind of world?

For some people coming out is still hard, and let's put the career aside. Personally, I applauded Lance, and having watched Amazing Race, "Reichen". is totally HOT. I think they make a great couple, isn't that what it's all about, instead of, what's good for the cause. Anyway you look at it, Lance is part of us, it just took him a little longer. Oh would love to "Review" those two any time :honest: .

I totally agree Ken. In addition, everytime a celeb comes out of the closet it puts another face to our cause whether or not they're in their prime or not. Most of us, myself included at one point or another has lied about our sexuality in order to gain favor or out of fear. Stones and glass houses. I think its awesome that lance is able to now live his life openly and doesn't have to be haunted by the rumor mill. Welcome to the party my brother!
