How diversified is your business?

I know I’ve asked this question in the past, especially on the old posting board we had online when GWW was born. But with recent changes and anticipate changes in the industry I want to ask it again….

How diversified is your business?

I can speak for GA Media, of course. While we are deeply entrenched in our resources, affiliate programs, etc. - we do have a number of projects that are outside of adult and even going off line.

I know a number of our community members have come from the non-adult side of the web, do you still have ventures on that side of the internet?

I've always been a proponet of diversification. So many people are edging into the mainstream world right now, and I think it's smart. there are a lot of great minds in this business and a lot of money to be made in mainstream. You should always have that plan B.

I still have a "toe" in the mainstream, but not working it right now. I found it very hard to make sales or even get much targeted traffic in an affiliate-type set up without a unique product. I still get about a visit a day to doorway page for nutritional information, but those visitors don't even click to go to the next page to read the free nutritional information, much less click on any of the nutritional products for sale!

We have our feet in straight and gay sites, as well as video distribution and soon to be full out DVD/vhs productions.

My distribution company is now branching out in to art. (Posters, paintings, animals, plants, ECT.) You'd be so surprised how cheap I can pick them up for overseas and sell them for like 200% profit here to retail chains. We’re actually taking things a set farther to invest in buying land and building fish farms and green houses to grow, breed, and sell the products easier with more control. (However, both companies have different owners. I own 100% of 1 and 1/3 of another.)

I am actually opening the sites and catalogs soon! I work with 6 studios right now and just hired a marketing person to help me. (Snagged him from Universal Records.) Not the guy you met, but another one.

I am actually thinking about buying part of a studio or opening my own studio. I'm not sure which I want to do yet. I've been offered the backing from a Euro company, and have been called for handling the gay half a well known straight company that I won't name right now.
