does anyone know how long topbucks cookies last? we recently made a sale from a page that has been gone since june 22, 2005 :eek:

It would appear as if they last 4 months.

Your sale may have come from a bookmarked tour page. TopBucks bookmarks retain the ref ID in the URL, something a lot of sponsors don't implement.

nope. it is a 404 page with no links, and has been for over a years.

You can try asking topbucks at their forum.
I wonder if the ref id is replaced if a surfer visits the same sponsor from a different page or gallery :hmm:

I asked our programmers and this was their response.

Currently it's 120 days, but that's not fixed in stone and subject to
change without notice. As for the sale from that page, there are several
possibilities that might explain this:


1) the customer's computer time is so off that the cookie hasn't expired
2) the customer bookmarked the page and came back to it only recently
3) the customer came from a different page that linked to the webmasters
page; this could be some other old webmaster page or a old cached
version on some search engine or message board.
