Yes it is new
I posted about this earlier this morning on InGayPorn
pretty kewl eh? they are helping us to avoid potentially dangerous sites.
Google has been working on this for a while. Heres a story about it http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/5251742.stm
How does everyone feel about this?
With the exception of the losers who are making money off of these drive-by downloads, I don't think anyone would object to being warned that they're at risk of malware infections. And I think that Google's approach -- a warning page -- is a very reasonable middle ground between doing nothing and censoring the search results.
Pretty clever solution, if you ask me!
I love the idea and believe it's about fricken time!
A small part of what makes them THE BEST ... SE, IME or HO!
Might not be that far aware, its usually warez/spyware sites that this kind of thing starts out with then it slowly progresses to porn sites.
Would love to be the company involved with Google when they do start doing this for adult sites though, a single text link on such a page would generate literally millions in additional income and i would have no problems splitting that revenue 90/10 in Googles favor
