Do "mixed" avs's give a stuff about gay webmasters?

    <rant>
First pro adult dont have a gay sign up page, just a very straight one, now
sex key have revamped their sign up pages and it has 4 girls on it and one guy? why dont they just do either generic ones (which worked well before) or do a gay version?

Does gay porn not sell anymore? are we now irrelivent?

Glad im not the only one to feel this way.

Of course gay porn is still big bucks. even no after so much has changed, and i struggled to get back into it, the sales are now coming through.

I run a straight site, i know knothing about women, but i do research, talk to straight freinds, get them to review the tours and content.

    Its not difficult really $0.02

All things being equal and even some thing not being equal I will always try to go with a real gay run company. Like they say in the US buy America “even though we buy allot of stuff for China” If we do not support one of the only gay run industries what does that say about us? If these AVS site are not offering what you want or converting well FUCK them, their is many more fish in the sea. From some of your post I can tell your a few years behind the game, things have changed allot in the past few years. I really would not spend that much time worrying about some AVS man. :bullcrap:

You can and should have tried already, but AVS is not 20% of what it was a few years ago no matter what some people say. Now for some rare or fringe content is still can do ok, but even with that its days are numbered. Just seems you are getting all bent out of shape over a has-been program. :rip:

Results may vary I would test it, but would be ready to move on soon after.

AVS is good for a "door stop", + maybe a few extra sales, but that is about it. I can sell 3xs as many 24.95-29,95 membership than I can give away free AVS memberships. AVS is too generalized for the market now days, has not changed in 5 years, and about everything they offer you can get for free "well that is if you don’t pay them the extra 34.95+ a month LOL" But like I say go with what ya know. :turddance:

avs does great for me, but thank goodness i didn't have my current gay sites on sexkey. i wonder how long that join page has been up - it probably won't do as well for str8, either - imagine how crappy that join page is for granny sites and ebony sites!

i don't know that this is about not caring about gay sites so much as it is trying to have a single generic join page. of course, anyone who has worked straight or gay paysites knows that the join page is a very important part of what makes people join but sexkey may only want members who are not looking for very specific content - or they may have just thought it would be easier for them if they had a single join page

    Hey all, How's it going?

I am glad to see that there are people standing up and saying that AVS is not dead.

Sexkey was started as a straight AVS, and we learned later that there was a considerable amount of gay/gay curious traffic inside of sexkey.

I know that it seems like we are only going after straight conversions, but that is not the case. I have seen gay webmasters who built gay sites for Mansites, and those particular sites wouldn't convert there, but after they submitted the exact same mirrored design to sexkey they started to get sign-ups.

I beg to disagree on your point that a straight person can do research and look at things, and know how to build a gay site. We have had more stright people go crazy trying to build things that work in the gay side of this industry. There is something inherent in the way a gay person can appeal their vision to other gay men. I am straight, and I know that I couldn't do it.

As for the banner, we have a new marketing manager, and we are working on beefing up all the marketing tools for all of our programs. I think you will find that we wanted to get away from the generic banners and move more towards a customized set of creatives for each niche. I think that you will all like the direction we are taking with things. Those are projected to be finished in 1 to 2 weeks.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. If you need anything, or just want to say HI, you can reach me at any of the following ways:

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

That rubbish, some of the best marketers of gay sites are straight webmasters.

Almost every large gay TGP is owned by a straight webmaster, BadPuppy, is primarily marketed by straight individuals.

I would agree that a lot of straight webmasters dont spend the time to learn to build gay sites but, to say that straight webmasters overall are no good at building gay sites is rubbish, thats like saying gay webmasters cant build good straight sites.

    Regards,

    Lee

Sexkey, mansites, and GMP are ok and about the only AVS I would use, the others are a bit to cock blocking and do not work well with what I would like to do. If you use other AVS’s that will not let you place ads on your tour pages I would test the traffic you are sending to that site to really see how poor or good it is really converting. I bet you will find some really bad numbers in most cases with the raw traffic. :baa: :baa: :baa: :baa: :baa:

Max, different webmasters work different ways. Some do well with paysites, others with free/tgp and others with avs etc. Just because one webmaster cant convert with avs doesnt make it dead:crazyeyes:

    Thanks for your input Lee.

I was talking about AVS webmasters. This thread is about AVS not about programs like Badpuppy, or TGP sites. It was regarding AVS sites.

I would never speak about something I know nothing about like TGP's or Badpuppy and who does their design work.

Max, thanks for the good words.

Marc, that is the plan to have all new creatives in place for our webmasters to use to better market their submissions. Looking forward to working with you more in the future.
