How Far In Advance Do You Register Domains?

Before you plan on using them?

Today ive been going through our current domain portfolio checking the names i want to keep and the ones i want to let expire and i came to the conclusion that im addicted to registering domain names LOL

I have several domains that we have owned for over 5 years that have been left relatively untouched that we still plan on using 'sometime' in the future and i was wondering, how often do you register new domains and, when you do, how long in advance do you register them in comparison to how quickly you are going to end up using them?

You can tell mine was reserved way too much in advance

I registered my domain name (DudesGettingOff.com) some time back, though I haven't done anything with it yet. If I think of any others, I'll register them as well. One of these days I'm going to start my own site. Then you'll be sorry.

I have the next 5 years or so worth of domains registered and waiting, I know pretty much all the sites I will be making in the next few years, but things could change a bit and I might need to add one or something. Hell its only like 8$ a year I will live

My affiliate domain will be twinkpayday.com but think I will wait until I open the next site after the one I am about to open now of course before I mess to much with that affiliate one. I can not really say what some of the new sites will be, but the 3rd site will surprise some people that I opened it.
