HDV Advise

Is it possible for video that is shot in HDV to be converted to normal mpeg and wmv file types ?

sure, that isn't a problem. Only possible issue is that HDV and HD are natively 16:9 aspect ratio where regular video is 4:3, so the shape of the images will be different, but people are pretty much used to that anyway.

some programs will allow you to crop your videos so they are narrower. just don't shoot anything essential outside of the center of the video and you can crop them to a standard size.

not all programs will do it, but the high end ones will.

many thanks for the replies to this one - I'm shooting some of my own stuff and wondered if I should be shooting in HD now rather than later
