How Long Until The Blog Craze Bursts?

Im noticing a lot of people in the industry are working on blogs right now, in fact, a good deal of productive traffic is coming from blogs to the Condom Cash sites.

Noticing that actually got me thinking, with seemingly everyone owning at least 1 blog these days, do you think we're going to see the current trend in blogging for traffic burst at some point in the next 12-24 months or, do you think we'll see a steady increase in porn related blogs?

I personally feel that while there will still be porn blogs around, we're going to see some new concept take over the current popularity of blogs (much like how review sites have taken over the want for everyone to build TGPs ).

What are your folks thoughts on this, will we see a decline in 'new' porn blogs over the next couple of years or do you think we're going to see them continue to grow?

    Regards,

    Lee

It's already happening. I've seen a zillion blogs with three months of entries, and then they lose interest.

You gotta realize that starting a blog is like starting a daily newspaper. In order for it to work, you've got to do a lot of updates, and make it engaging to read.

I read an article in the mainstream press that the only really successful blogs nowdays have a whole staff to run it, just like a magazine or newpaper.

    no, we will not.

If anything, we will continue to see a steady climb in the numbers of porn blogs (what I call pogs).

Also, I believe pogs to be the easiest way for people to enter the adult industry.

If anything, their "worth" (to the reader) will decrease as the number of pogs increase.

    LOL @ Pogs.

Werent they those bottle cap things from a few years ago that all kids were in to collecting?

Kind of like baseball cards but not as good.

Well, like any particular flavour of site, lots will start one and then realize that it takes a bit of work.

I've been blogging for several years now and I'll continue to do so.

I'm going on to month 5 of my porn blogs and thats working out great.

As long as there is the software to do it and things to blog about I imagine I'll be doing it for quite some while.

I don't think they will fade out just become more complex, have more information, blogging is just one small part of the net and to be honest I don't think we have even scratched the surface of the potetial the internet has for adult and mainstream....

I think many webmasters are using the blog software to produce "free sites" and hubs now because the SE's love em. I have one I didn't get around to updating for an entire month due to other projects ... and it has a higher PR than sites I've had online for over 4 years ...
