    Suzanne Somers Diet Progress Report

    Ok, so it's been a few weeks since I started the Suzanne Somers diet, and today I did that thing where you look down in shock and go "My thighs dont' rub together."

    My pants are falling off, my T-shirts don't fit anymore (my favorite Harley Davidson T-shirt makes me look like I stole Mrs. Roper's Mumu) and I had to get a new hole drilled in my favorite belt.

    the new kilt I bought just falls right past my hips and my riding pants now aren't snug, which means I spent $400 on a set of riding leathers that aren't functional.

    My new riding jacket is loose on me and my chaps just look silly.

    (oh, but apparenlty, it's not enough, when I met DEVISH last week, he said "I thought you were thin". fucker.)

    And although I'm a lot thinner, I dont' have abs yet, dammit.

    good work!

    I recently dropped weight as well - so i know the "nothing fits anymore" feeling. But I'm glad I lost the weight.

    I think bears are hot, but I don't want to be one. I want to be in better shape, honestly... I want to be able to ride my mountain bike and I want to be able to take the stairs and I want to be able to not have a heart attack at 50.

    No, not your having to hire a tailor, so to take in all your clothes, or that that lil' :develish: decided to curb his couth (DAMN, may as well have :haha.
    Awesome because you're trimming down (especially if it's speed free ... no diet pills), and you want to be healthier.
    Too many people hate active lifestyles, so they cheat and grab the quick solution, such as pills.

    It will take a bit of time, but once you've maintained a regiment of daily excercise (min. of 40-minutes carbdio, added to everything else) your body will become more efficient - your metabolism will increase.
    I would like to recommend to you to not starve yourself, as most others do, as it is one of the worse things to do to your metabolism. Eat a small quantities of meaningful calories, hourly (!), or, at the very least, every 2-hours.
    To me, that is just as important as maintaining proper technique (when working out).

    I just want to say great job, and offer you some words of advice, which I hope they did not offend - they are only to help.

    Oh, and here is a good "cheat": try to drink as many cold liquids (preferably water) as possible, as it will burn fat (Not kidding!)!
    Your body cannot "process" cold liquids, so it has to warm them, thusly using up energy, thusly burning calories and fat.

    If your endurance training, drink only room temperature or warmer liquids (not hot).

    You're on the SUZANNE SOMERS diet??? FOR REAL??? LOL!

    Must be in the air. I've been working out regularly for the first time in my life. I took a weight training class over at LACC, and I came out of it inspired to finally get off my ass and get some frickin' exercise. I haven't joined a gym yet, though. I have some weights at home and I've been using them about 3-4 times a week, just getting to a point where I feel more confident and comfortable with the whole idea before I throw myself into THAT arena.

    (I have a phobia of gyms. They annoy me. I hate the whole "cruisy element" of gyms in L.A. Seems to me like the vast majority of gay guys working out don't really care about being in shape -- they just care about being "hot." So I get really annoyed in gyms that have a large gay clientele.)

    ANYway, I do feel much more confident and energetic lately. I always heard stories about how working out is good for your mental agility and posture and all that... but I like the way it makes me feel motivated in general. There's this new feeling that I can pretty much do anything. I like it.

    Congrats, Jasun. Glad to hear you're taking control of your life in this way.
