I think this goes to show that the Cybersocket awards aren't politically motivated, if they were it could be said that GWW regulars might not be nominated, but some of us are!
I don't have any affiliations at all with Cybersocket and I haven't advertised with them, yet another reason to see these nominations as valid. I think I speak for everyone who's nominated in saying that it's nice to be acknowledged for our work, regardless of what the impact on surfers is. Thanks guys.

What's the static between GWW and Cybersocket? I noticed nothing was posted on this board regarding the nominations.

But I must say I have started to doubt these awards, i was looking through some of the nominated sites only to find that some sites dont even seem to be up and running. Some others are simply nothing more than tiny free sites with nothing much on them.
There seems to be a huge difference in quality on the nominated awards, some of them are extremly good others well I cant see why they even been nominated if not by the owners and cant see why they havent been removed or how they came this far.
Anyway, maybe im just being a bitch bucause i didnt get a nomination!The quality of your site, the quality of your surfers/traffic is matched only by one IMHO!
You have kept your site honest and true and for that at least you are always #1 in many peeps books!

I think we should be very thankful CyberSocket put their time, effort, resources and money into these awards for us. They don't have to do it at all. It would probably save them a lot of hassle and money if they didn't.
If you didn't know it was time to nominate your site, that may be why you didn't get nominated. You have to get out there and get the word out to get nominated and to win. How is that CyberSockets fault, they can't be held accountable for what people choose? It's a vote.
Congrats to Jacob, Jasun, Chip and all the other GWW'ers who were nominated. We were nominated on the industry side for "Best Web Content Provider" and on the surfer side for "Best Amateur Video Site" and "Best Video Company Site", in fact. It may not mean a lot to some, but nevertheless it's nice to be recognized for your effort!
