Have / Are You Going To Pre-Order Windows Vista?

I have to say, im not all that keen on the thought of having to upgrade to a new OS next year especially when the current Windows operating system still appears to have several flaws in it

So what about the rest of you folks, are you planning on upgrading to Windows Vista when it launches or will you be waiting a few months until all of the main bugs are out of it?

    Regards,

    Lee

I'll wait for it to be around for a little at least, and for the price to drop as well, and to see what the comments are before I splurge. :morning:

Judging by the performance and MASSIVE bugs in my Office Professional 2007 beta there is no way in HELL I'd upgrade to the new Vista when it comes out.

Just the new office alone is a total memory hog robbing my system of 25% of it's perfomance after installation, no joke.

Unless you have an extremely fast machine with few other programs installed and Gigs of free RAM I'd suggest waiting.

I'm wondering if these issues with why Bill stepped down this year, prior to the Vista release. :fucked:

The only immediately apparent positive about Vista is that security is now a layer rather than a service. Most other things seem to be fluff that I can't get excited about. I really disliked Beta 2. But apparently it has improved since then.

I'll upgrade eventually. But no rush.

nah didn't like using it all. Warning boxes poping up every time I try to delete something and the whole interface is just crap. Without it, reverting to classic windows, it'just plain old Windows XP.

My cousin is journo in europe and gets free cd's from MS if I was desperate to have Vista I'd get a copy of his cd, otherwise no.

all indicators point that Vista will be one expensive POS Windows XP skin

I am so close to buyuing a Mac though, so close almost got one on friday from CompUSA

BAH HAH HAH - you too funny, Lee!

Not a chance in hell! I am still waiting for these oh so many great reasons for me to switch to XP, which I have/am not (using).

Screw Vista -- Mac OS X for the win! I cant wait for the new release and the final eddition of Bootcamp which will let mac users boot both OS X and Windows (not in emulation, natively) at the same time. OS switching is supposed to be just like switching users... fast, easy, beautifully animated. *shivvers with anticipation*

Uh, screw Windows, you're going to use Windows?

    Contradiction!

Me personally, no. But it will take away an excuse for many people in regards to owning a Mac. Cost is really the only other concern but I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for." While the upfront costs of a Mac are somewhat higher, their lifetime costs are lower in my experience.
