Well, if you do, Earthlink are now doing this.

I cant remember which comapny started doing it several years back although, i seem to recall it was one of the main domain registrars and it caused all sorts of chaos.

Hopefully Earthlink will realize the error of their ways and change this.

oh no, not again...last time it was verisign and it causes a HUGE headache for us hosters because if we are monitoring a site and it goes offline, we need to see an error response....if it gets auto-redirected to an advertising page then we never know its offline or having problems.

I just read thru all the comments and there are a lot of valid points why this should not be allowed. I really hope they get in as much shit as verisign did and they drop this greedy "feature" quickly.
