Is it worth waiting to get a new laptop

I need to replace my laptop but am holding off for

1) Microsoft Vista (might take a few months to stabilize)
2) Intel "Dual 2 Core" Technology as against "Dual Core" - Definitely going to be expensive initially.

Any feedback?

Just bought a new Dell duo core, love it, with a high res screen, for under $1400 prices are pretty cheap, for what you are getting now, why wait, i usually buy new laptops every 2 years.
