Do you ever get sick and tired?

    Hey guys,

Do you ever get sick and tired of pushing traffic? In the last couple of weeks of the summer slump I had enough. I laid down on my couch and watch eight seasons of Stargate SG-1 and two seasons of Battlestar Galatica. Of course this has put me way behind in everything, but the rest was nice.

How do you recharge your batteries when your sick and tired of the grind?

    Michael

, i watch disney movies ( mulan ) , it's a nice break from porn since my day starts off with "adult cartoons" (vistavideo) to begin with. ( i like the music as background noise till i "officially" get it together!)

I find taking a FULL day off and not even going near the computer is great every 2-3 weeks. Really gets me refreshed and ready to work again.

I do what you did, though I'll watch football games all day long from the couch as I did yesterday.

I decompress by watching a few DVRed Law & Order episodes every evening. It drives my partner nuts but keeps me sane. I think I've almost seen every episode and I won't know what to do when I run out. :uhoh:

Funny you should mention that, because Law and Order is one of my favorite late-night-brain-drain activities as well. Extremely well written, good plot twists, you never really know which way it's going to turn out... good television to the extent there is any good television

What I've found, though, is even when there's an episode I've already seen, often I don't remember the plot or how it comes out, so I don't mind watching again.

The other things I've been really enjoying recently are some DVDs of Russell Peters I recently got. If you haven't seen him, he's a Canadian comedian whose parents are from India, and he does an incredible job of capturing the stereotypes of various minorities... sorta like Carlos Mencia, but he doesn't push the line quite as far.

All the time Michael, thats the main reason why i always have so many new 'projects' going on at any one time.

If i get 'bored' with one thing, for example, building galleries, free sites etc, ill switch to doing something else, improving members areas or putting new site concepts together, for example.

I find by having more than 1 thing to work on, i can pass times of boredom by switching to working on another project, i realize this method may not work for everyone but it certainly helps me maintain a focus on work, even when my mind is somewhere else.

Also, in the daytimes, i take a couple of hours 'out' for myself and veg out in front of the TV, it doesnt matter what im watching, i find that time away from the office is really relaxing and, when i get back to the laptop im geared up to finish what i started before i took a break

    Regards,

    Lee

Wow what a great way to just relax and recharge I love Battlestar Gallatica. It is one of my favorite shows. I usually try to watch a movie or some series that really helps. I also love to play video games that is a great way to unwind. This new game that came out for the 360 called Saints Row. You can really relieve tention by running over people, killing pimps and picking up their hookers, doing insurance fraud, where you throw yourself in front of vehicles to get money and stuff like that, .

I recharge by getting away from all technology. I garden, hike, build snow forts :kid: -anything, as long as it's out of the house. That's how I find balance.

I wish that would help me as much as you, I have a feeling its going to be a long year with my team. Personal this year I think they will be lucky to win 7 games, Culpepper is too inconstant from week too week to do much of anything other that to give me whiplash. I really do think this will be the last year Culpepper will be a starter for us "if he makes it that long" and really his last year in the NFL as a starter. :shithitfan:

Uh, what do I do to relax ?
    *covering mouth while chuckling*
Simple - I continue being me, enjoying life (not work) and all that this world has to offer!

I do try my hardest to not spend much time in front of this bleepin' box and will use any excuse available to me so to get me out of scorching my eyeballs! I've refused to work weekends for many many years, and am now looking to lighten-up my workweek to 3-days (winter approaches).
I really truly despise the work 5 & live 2 way!

To relax, I simply go outside and play!
Mountaineering (telemark or backcountry ski, hike, scramble, ice & rock climb) is by far my favourite release and getaway, and I WILL remove whatever &/or whomever stands in the way of my going to see my love. (When I am gone from my love for too long part of me slips away, making me incomplete!)

    More of my favourite stimulants:
Wind: Traction kites (ski, ice-skate, rollerblade & plain old jumping) & parasail. Note: make sure you pay attention to which way the windsock is pointing, on your wind-powered Paco!
Water: Kayak (stunt & expedition) and canoe
Note: Oil floats in water, so your Paco is an excellent addition to any water sport
    City: rollerblade, cycle, disc-golf :paco:

BUT, something tells me that most of you already know ... I am a slacker!

Oh yah, one more thing: listening to some pounding & hypnotic beats & dancing (during or not) helps, also!

Although I do not view many TV programs, the Stargate (SG-1 & Atlantis) franchise and Battlestar Galatica are on my 'must record' list. Last month, I was saddened to hear that TheSpaceChannel has decided to drop SG-1 (not Atlantis) after the up-coming season (#10) - contract will not be renewed.
I am crossing my fingers and hoping that another channel will pick them up.

I have been going to the gym several times a week, its amazing how physical work renews your brain's energy!

    cheers,

Luke - I am always glad to read posts such as yours. Not many are willing to do something "physical", but they many do they realize how important it is.
Otherwise, all will shrivel-up, and maybe even fall off!

For the first time in AGES, I actually took a day off from "playing". I had planned on renting some videos, but nothing I was interested in was available. So instead I slept 11-hours (Sat.-Sun.) - talk about refreshing!

I am once again ready to conquer all mountains!

I do normal things, like write or watch TV, go out with friends or chat online. But I'll tell ya, when you're really mentally bogged down with tons of things spinning around your head, there's nothing like a good flogging to clear things up. You can't think about anything except the thump, thump, thump on your back and it's incredibly freeing.

    Ummm.... TMI? :donmike:
