How to get listed on Penisbot, Greenguy etc?

I managed to list several of my sites back in 2004 and 2005 on Penisbot and they are still doing very well, still getting signups from some of these sites which is pretty amazing. The traffic is steady even after a year or so...and since they're not exclusively gay link lists, I guess there are many "straight" and curious men who wouldn't have found gay sites in any other way so easily.

About a month ago I made a free site and followed all the Penisbot's rules (especially taking care not to have more than 3 links/banners on each page), but they didn't accept the site. No explanation. The content was fresh, the design pretty good.

Greenguy... I heard that his list provides good traffic, but I never ever managed to get any of my sites listed with him!


Any ideas on how to fulfill their requirements? Or would I be better off to stick to tried and tested gay-owned link lists sites that are charm to work with and almost never reject a site without a good reason?

It might well be Patti. I think I submitted a few sites with a counter on them (imagine the horror due to such blatant rule violation ). Also, once I submitted a site that was clearly geared towards gay males to their "gay" category. The site was declined with the explanation that it should have been put into the "men" or "hunks" category since women can also appreciate it...

Frankly, that kind of nitpicking gets on my nerves big time. I also don't want to go and beg for being accepted to various forums. It's downright humiliating. I'll try once again and if I am rejected I will forget him forever. After all, I am sending the link list owners traffic as well, it's not like they are only doing me the favour.

I also remember one other mainly straight link list site (forgot the name) which put me through loops and rejected my site like... 10 times. In the end it was accepted and I got whooping 3 clicks off their list!

that's why i hate freesite submission, the rules are always changing and people mess you around. There's no point putting all your effort into making a freesite then filling the warning page will a million recips encouraging your surfer to not even view yer content...bah!

Personally, I make clean freesites, loads of keywords in them and drop them in the linkdumps, the linkdump traffic varies from great to absolute garbage but it's the search engine traffic which follows that's golden

If i had the know-how I'd start a linklist with only a couple of basic rules. I'd love to see a linklist that would allow each picture to be on a HTML page, it's be wicked for search engines and sales.

Ben - it's no coincidence that the nitpicking linklists send the best traffic. when adult counters are clicked, they take the surfers to counter sites with large amounts of popups and worse. the link lists that watch out for their surfers regarding stuff like this have tons of bookmarkers dating back years.

greenguy, richardsrealm and especially persiankitty send really good long term traffic and excellent short term traffic. it's worth following the rules because those rules are what made their traffic possible. otherwise they'd have average amounts of average traffic.

by the way, you are sending very little traffic to the link list owners. i was surprised how few hits those recips really send.

Yep, 4 of the better straight links lists for gay sites are Penisbot, Green Guy's Link-o-Rama, RichardsRealm and Persian Kitty.

Getting listed on Link-o-Rama...I had horrible problems with getting the category right, even got blacklisted, then appealed the blacklisting, and still had problems. Now I am getting it right; apparently, the reviewer wants all sites with pics of just 1 guy alone listed as Gay Solo (regardless of the type of guy or what he's doing).

RichardsRealm does not seem to list my solo guy sites...apparently RR link list wants freesites with hardcore action (or possibly a solo guy with unusual activity???)

The amount of submits exceeds the amount of daily published links. Currently we have around 250 submits daily and only 120 of them pass the review process.

PenisBot seems to automatically remove any new site submissions I make within a few hours. I follow all their rules religiously, so I am wondering - wtf? I emailed their support - they don't respond.



And as for the link-o-rama.com rules, this rule took me by surprise:

Pics must have a combined width & height of 1200 pixels. Good: 700 + 525 = 1225 Bad: 640 + 480 = 1120

What is wrong with the pictures that have 1120 pixels when their width and height are combined? As far as I can see, the pictures with such dimensions don't look odd in any way whatsoever.

Ben, that's a new rule by link-o-rama there. No point in arguing, that's them rules, and submitters can either follow and submit, or pass on.

It does help to post rejected sites in the appropriate thread there. It's not about begging to be accepted, but more about learning what you did wrong.

If you like PM me with a link to your rejected freesites and I'll take a look. I get my sites listed with LOR and Penisbot almost always, so maybe I can help you figure out if there's anything in your site that may get it disqualified.
