What Would You Like To Do Other Than Porn?

I was just wondering what if anything you guys and girls would rather be doing if you could do any job. Personally I would love to be creating Horror Movies, I believe they do have allot in common with what I am doing now “maybe why I do what I do now” and if give the chance I would try too create some of the most shocking and controversial horror films around. Nothing is more fun to be that to beadle to shock people, scare them, or just to invoke a strong reaction. It seems the best ways to do this has always been to appeal to peoples most basic instincts, Fear, Hate, and of course Sex

I'd like to have a themed specialty chocolate store. I'm calling it Delicious Demons. High end, great tasting, little devils, gargoyles and demons with different flavored gooey fillings that run out when you bite their heads off.

I'd also like to create a non profit organization that makes adoption free. I don't feel that money or distance should come between connecting a child with loving parents.

I'd also like to author a small coffee table book called "Daily Rituals" that focuses on the things people in different cultures do daily to bring peace and serenity to their lives. Lots of photos, not much text.

That’s kind of cool you have aspirations other than porn you can actually accomplish. As far as me mine is just a dream that I will really never be able to do, I might be a extra in a horror move some day “do live near Hollywood and would work cheap LOL” but I will realistically never be able to make my own film. Maybe I will make a horror porno someday, but with all the problems with the banks as far a processing I am sure I would have to water this down so much that I would never really be proud of it. :crybaby:

Go here: http://www.entertainmentcareers.cc/e...crew_index.htm - this gives general info on working in productions, your first step to learning about the movie business.

This is a site referred to me by The Entertainment Industry Development Corporation, the non profit organization that is hollywoods behind the scenes glue. They do all the portfolio services for ALL production companies in the hollywood area. If you want to film ANYTHING in the Hollywod area, or LA, you have to get a permit through them. They used to give out "shoot sheets" a daily list to the general public of every production being shot in the area, including the production name, location address and how long they are shooting there.

Hollywood is ALWAYS hiring and looking for people to do grunt work on sets. The pay isn't always that bad and what you learn can help you decide if this is what you want to do and, more importantly, how productions work. This site is where anyone wanting to work in Hollywood goes to find the latest positions and many require NO EXPERIENCE: http://www.la411.com

I used to live in L.A., Santa Monica, and the valley - don't miss L.A. or the valley, but Santa Monica was great. Anyway I hope this info helps. If you're at all really interested this is where you begin. :drunk:

Well I would like to do all that man, but doing grunt work on a production is out of the question right now I have my hand more than full as it is. After all over the next 3 or so years I need to open another 6 full members sites not counting the one I am opening now. I would not mind be a extra for a week-end or something but it would have to be in a horror movie only, anything more than that would take time away from my work.

I will check out all of that though, I do need to learn more about film making for my upcoming videos, but I assume I will lean most of that the same way I do everything else, just by doing it. To get the funding to create a mainstream horror film like I would love to would really take to much time, and probably at this point is impossible.

Well sadly yes, I will never be able to create a mainstream horror movie, that is just a dream I have to keep on track you can not be undertaking to many projects if you ever want to accomplish any of them. I will be creating videos with-in a year or so, but this is not really the same thing. You can think badly of me if you wish, but I have to be realistic, and finish up what I have already begun before doing anything else.

Max, I for one love horror films and believe the genres is being overlooked. There truly have not been any new ones out for a decade, or longer - most of those released lately are not "scary", or what I consider to be a horror, as I am sure you will agree.
Take the oh so popular M.Night Shame: does anybody actually believe his stuff to be frightening (aside from the fact that they continue to let him make more)?

Tom, your last two additions are very admirable and I strongly agree with you - people (some exclusions, of course) should not be denied the chances to share their love, simply because of money!
Too many children have no family, and adding administrative costs to the process will only make the figures rise.

As for your chocolate covered dreams: you can't go wrong with that - it (cocoa) is something people will always want, just like sex!

Me: I've always wanted a deli [slash] café [slash] bakery (will settle for a diner), somewhere near the mountains in either the Yukon Territory, or Alaska.

    Thick & strong coffee!
    Big sandwiches.
    Hearty soups
and heavy heavy breads (rye etc)

2nd place is a winter mountaineering, or "backcountry", ski guide.

Ya I think now days most horror movies try to be trendy more than scary “not that any horror movies scare me in the first place” I have a thing for 80’s horror films and maybe a few really late 70’s once too. Now days I think too many filmmakers are making horror film to be more like date moves rather than to really try to scare or shock people.

Agreed: 70's & 80's stuff is much better.

    What I considered scary:
Evil Dead (original or the first one)
    Nightmare On ElmStreet (first one)
Exorcist (when I still believed in a god)
Claire Denis' Trouble Every Day (there are a few versions, but this is the better one).

Also, if you can find it, I recommend Nekromantik (one, or two). It is German, but it is similar to what you want to do (an all encompassing horror film).

Ya its like they sold out after that to get better ticket sales, even coming out with these BS PG13 horror films that should have never been made. I understand the filmmakers wanting to keep working and all, but having to water down their visions like that has to really hurt.

I love The Evil Dead, nothing is better than a little tree loving

Nightmare On ElmStreet (first one) Was ok too

Exorcist is a Classic they even had to cut that movie at the time because people could not handle it “you have to love that”

I would like to have my own Ad Agency someday. It would be a very cutting edge and racy firm for "out of the box" companies. I want to bring more European style advertising to North America. The advertising industry here is so stuffy and right wing, I think it could use a jolt of human sexuality.

I know I said this already but I would love to make a Gay Slasher Porno Movie OMG that would be so cool, but the bank would never let me sell it or have it in my sites, and some of you guys would give me all kind of crap about violence and blood in a porn movie. But if it was not for the bank thing I would still do it maybe someday I will find a way to do it, but again I would not water it down and try to make it funny or light I would rather not even bother then.
