Why Are Companies Constantly Thinking Of Ways To..

Give surfers as much porn as possible and yet, still pay the same price for a membership to a paysite?

I just doont understand it, these days, surfers can get access to all kinds of porn, including exclusive movies and image content that they cant find ANYWHERE else but sponsors are still giving away everything and more to these surfers.

I really do beleive that a lot of these companies are trying to kill the industry by letting surfers access anything they demand from a single site.

It just isnt a viable business model to give EVERYTHING you can get your hands on away for $29.95 a month anymore because everyone seems to be trying to do it.

Do you folks think this is an effect of the 'hobbyist' webmaster hittiing the industry hard over the last few years, the type that wants whatever they can get done for free by the sponsor?

I just really dont understand some of these companies, they offer servers full of movies on P2P networks, FTP download, members areas and they still try to give more content away.

    Regards,

    Lee

Well at least those members pay to see the content LOL, if you can get them to pay you with all the free stuff you have to give them everything you can to keep them around. The industry is changing in many ways and viewers are becoming less interested in online sites every year. Their are still ways to make sales and create sites, but these generic themes and this old school thinking is being phased out unless you can offer your viewers a HUGE amount of content.

I think it comes down to old school thinking. Your competitors are providing extra content so you have to do it as well to keep up, so they stay at your site versus going somewhere else. They provide extra content on their sites to keep up with you and the cycle continues.

Pay sites have often, and still do, used boasting on the amount of content as a marketing tool. It's old and it still works. If I can say I have more videos than abc.com I'm hoping those people will come to me instead. It would probably only take a few sites doing it successfully to change the trend.

    Ben,

To some extent i agree but, there is a difference between saying you have
'the most content' of any site and providing every image, movie, story you can find for $29.95.

I just noticed in the announcement section of GWW, someone posted that is selling 'FTP Access' to servers packed with content.... Not even a members area, no upsells, just servers packed full of content that can be download.

Where is the business sense there in giving everything away by FTP so the surfer has no need to rebill?

BINGO! I agree with your statements. If you're Coke and I'm Pepsi, we have to keep pace with each other. Then there are the little companies that pop up -or- have been around, make some changes, introduce new items/new ways or producing/etc, and WHAM, Coke and Pepsi take note as well and follow/steal some of what the little guys are doing.
