Danny no longer posts on GWW after it was discovered some of his friends promote pseudo cp sites and he took offence to them being called on it.

He does still login to read posts though

So.... has anyone heard if Danny is ok? I'm not really expecting him to post since the country is under martial law and even CNN and the BBC have been taken off the air. He has a lot of friends here, so hopefully he has gotten word out to someone.

In actuality, Lee, it was a history of board behavior that contributed to their absence as of late. As informative and fun as this board can be, there's also a lot of unnecessary drama and cattiness here as well. Of course, that just goes with the territory (see: GFY), but regardless of what Danny's "final straw" may have been, be aware that it wasn't just one thing that caused him to stop posting.

I actually just checked and we are both wrong.

It seems the reason danny left was he didnt like the fact i told him someone on another board was accusing HIM of promoting child porn, even though he isnt..

Again, from what I know in speaking with Danny himself, that was really just the final straw. His problems with GWW existed some time before that thread. I'm just sayin'...

Oh okay, a shame he couldnt talk about the problems he was having rather than just pulling a hissy fit one day, oh well, no loss.

Perhaps if Danny took the time to contact me and tell me what his issues with GWW were they could have been worked out, other people have done that in the past. Unfortunately, as of right now, nobody except him knows what they were so there is no way they can be fixed or resolved.

He isnt banned, he can come back whenever he wants and post, i think this thread highlights that the 'no loss' comment is true, has anyone actually mentioned him on GWW since he stormed out in a huff? Has anyone asked where he is or how he is doing since he made that post?

That, to me, says that his 'leaving' GWW hasnt really had any effect on anyone other than him hence, no loss.

Actually, it IS a loss. Danny is a great guy with a lot to offer this board. He just got tired of webmaster self-righteousness, of which there is a lot (too much) to be found here. As you can see, Craig also left the board as a result of the same thread, and that was BEFORE you pointed out that someone had accused zBUCKz of being invovled in CP.

I'm not directing this at any one person, nor does it have to do with any one post or with GWW specifically. I just think that there is something to what I'm saying when I point out that many people in this business are FAR too quick to jump on their high horses and point fingers at other people. Something about being part of this business really brings out the ugly in people. Strangely enough, that only seems to happen on these webmaster forums, where the people don't have to look each other in the face and they can sit behind the "safety" of their computer monitors and judge each other. I think Craig and Danny (as well as many others who have since vacated this forum and several others) just got to a point where they grew disheartened with the underlying air of self-righteousness that can get in the way of good judgment.

I think you are a lot more sensitive than you let on. You seem to care about his departure more than anyone. Perhaps the two of you could open a private dialogue where you could sort out your feelings for him? Just a suggestion

Seriously, you came in here looking for a fight and to make your point. Mission accomplished. We are all sufficiently aware of your position on the matter. I will remember in the future, that when it comes time to inquire about the wellbeing of another gay webmaster... that this is not the place to do it. The ability to take a compassionate and humanitarian question and flip the dialogue into one promoting a personal agenda is a rare talent. The diatribe above is vendictive, but completly unnesessary.
