How to keep frogs out of the pool at night?

Does anyone know the trick to keeping frogs out of the pool at night? I don't care that they are there, but they are really noisey. We don't really want to screen in our pool, we like getting the rays and stuff.

Anyone have any tricks to repelling them, other then catching them and bouncing them off the neighbors roof? :frog:
    Thanks,
    Jacob

    Get a dog

Since we got Liquorice a few years ago critters know they cant come anywhere near the house or they get eaten LOL

She even barks at the squirrels and birds when they land near the house or run around in the tree's at the back of us near the river LOL

    Regards,

    Lee

    Hi Chad,

I would rather have frogs then snakes. Snakes scare me.

I thought of putting a fake snake in the pool, may give that a try.

I bet Lee has some sort of solution, I know he has a big ole pool here in FL and must be experiencing the same problem.

    How old are they?

Have you trained them to go after critters?

Make it a gameif you havent already trained them, tell them to 'go get it' and point at whatever it is, i guarantee after a few weeks they'll be chasing anything that goes near the house, frogs, bugs, lizards, you name it

Make sure you 'reward' them once they do run after something and you'll be set.

Anything we want Liquorice to do we turn in to a game and within a week or so she catches on that when she is 'good' get either gets a goodie or gets love.. Dogs LOVE to please humans

    Lee

ewwww I am not going to train my babies to eat frogs. They are inside dogs, don't want them bringing in dead frogs or frog dna into the house. eeww.. Thanks for the suggestion though Lee.

Instead of getting rid of the frogs, I think the real problem is the noise they make while to are trying to sleep. I might suggest getting a loud box fan, so this way it will droned out the noise made by the frogs. The cover for you pool could be a pain in the ass to fuck with, as well as fucking up your view of the pool. Other than getting a dog out their thats barking will be about as bad as the frogs, covering the pool, or adding more chemicals too the pool water that would burn your eyes ECT I do not really see any other solutions.

even a screen dosnt keep them out, they get in when the doors are opened and i think they breed in the shrubs around the pool.

I am regually rescuing them before i have to drag theire waterlogged remains out the filter basket

what is a bitch is when you have a black racer in there. they move fast, luckily seth loves snakes and to wach him chasing one around in the pool is worth a video

only way i knwo is to sprinkly FrogBgone around the pool, should last a week per application and you can get it at home depot

Thank you all for your help. Zac I love you dude! That is awesome news! Didn't know about FrogBGone, we will take it! Good to know about the screen also, because we didn't want to screen the pool in. Regarding the snake, no way! hahahahaha!

    Jacob,

Also in FL with a Pool

The quick fix for us was to make a pond in the yard. The frogs quit going into the open pool and now hang out at the pond.

The Pond is in the back of the yard so the noise isn't an issue.

Salt water pools have less of a problem with frogs. Try leaving them a means to get out, like a plank.
