    Forum Parties without Dicks??????

I was just perusing my super fantastic Gay Phoenix Forum Party list and although there are plenty of activities at Amsterdam's I was surprised to see an outing to Dick's mysteriously absent.
How can there be a gay webmaster event in Phoenix without Dicks???

Or maybe there will be dancers at some of the other events:bananacock:

In the interest of contributing directly to the education of college students, I will be happy to provide tip money [at least $5 in ones] to each and every person in attendance if dancers are present. The only catch is that it must be given to the dancers. I always figured I didn't need to donate to my university scholarship funds if I donated directly to college students!!!!

See this is why my BF does not want me going to these things, personally I could care less about some stripers or dancers at a webmaster conference. I can really live with out seeing all that, if that’s what you really care about maybe a strip club would be a better idea in the future. I think its a good idea to have a more work oriented atmosphere, last thing I want to see is lot of our webmasters trying to feel up or put their hands down some talents pants. Come on people just because we work in porn does not equate to us all wanting too act like viewers

Max, out of curiosity have you ever been to a webmaster conference or met another adult webmaster in real life?

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

I'm with you Chad... it won't be the same without the bus to Dicks for some "talent scouting." I say we organize an impromtu visit on our own. I can think of at least 10 people who'll gladly come along for the ride.

There is a time to work
*using a molecular telescope to look through the tiny gap that I have between my thumb and finger, as I press them together*

    and a time to play
*chopped off one finger and placed in on my desk, and am going for a LONG car ride to so place my thumb at a much further location*
wuh, holding my arms apart is not enough fun for this ploughboy!

Webmaster "parties" HAVE TO HAVE nudity! Not having a bunch of swinging dicks walking around would be like going to a bean counter convention and never looking at T-accounts!

    The answer is simple...

    Don't go.

This is like saying, "I'm not going to go to McDonald's because I don't like fried fish sandwiches". Like you can't go, enjoy everything else the trade show has to offer lilke the great seminars, the chance to meet and network with your peers in the industry, make plenty of business contacts and deals that could potentially make you a lot of money. But yeah, you're right. After all the business is done people like to have a little fun. And that's just not right. You really should just stay home.

I am sure one day I will go to a few of these things, but I think I will skip the “fun” part. I am ok with drinking and all, but when things start to degrade into some kind of a striper love feast or something it might be time to take off. I do not expect others to do the same, but I just do not see that personally as “fun” a bit creepy, or sad yes, but not something I really need to see. I can do that kind of stuff around here if that’s what I wanted, sorry it just sounds more like a EMP/Viewer kind of thing to me, but I could be wrong about that.

BTW I am sure the McDonald's owners conferences do not have many “fried fish sandwiches” or at least the owners are not into eating that crap themselves. :king:

Dicks is definitely not a high class strip joint. However, it is the only game in town for nude dancers, and it has been a tradition of Phoenix Forums for a long time. It is kind of like going back to a college homecoming game and going to the 2 bit sleazy dive bar you went to every friday after class because they had $1 beers. I don't want to make an evening of it, but if there is not a trip to Dicks, then we are messing with tradition.

Max, you really need to attend a webmaster trade show. Your view of what happens is far from the reality. Strippers are a fun addition to the show but the real reason we go to the shows is to develop relationships, trust, and get to know each other as businesspeople. It is very social but that is how we interact and that is where business ideas are hatched.

So, hopefully there will be a field trip and I have a huge stack of $1 bills to share with anyone who wants to tip the dancers.

Ya man, I am sure I will start attending at least a few next year, I think I would be better at this face to face stuff anyway. I am sure I am a bit wrong about some of the things I imagine goes on, its just until I have a product I am really proud of, that has to be my priority for now. I am totally ok with having a bit of fun and maybe a few drinks, just not into the whole swinging dick stuff as much as you might think from my line of work.

I know I am a living contradiction, but “reality” and “fantasy” are 2 separate things to me, I have NP with creating about any type of sites, but as far as doing or being a part of that myself well that is totally different too me.

You must not have been at the one where a couple bottles of vodka were smuggled in and drinks were being made in the mens room ;-)

I think one reason is that Dicks is not within walking distance of the hotels, and they tried to get away from using buses for anything this year. Fuck that. I have a truck and its legal to haul drunk pornographers in the bed of a truck in Arizona. Besides, I owe the world a few thousand rides after all those drunken escapades of my drinking years. :drunk:

I prefer sneaking to Dick's on my own.

    Less paparazzi.

    Ask John and Bryce.
