So, for a kid born in 1988, what does one wear to an 80s party?

I think that I will be going to the 80s party at Phoenix Forum, but being born in 1988, I don't remember much about the 80s.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for things I could wear?

A birthday suit comes to mind...

Pegged acid waches jeans ("pegged" means to fold over the leg of your jeans at the bottom so that the leg is tight against your ankle, then roll it up twice so that it rests over your ankle), Chuck Taylor Converse All Star/ Airwalks/Reeboks, Long sleeved button up paisely shirt (circa "Parker Lewis Can't Lose") and hairspray your hair into a cartoonish wave, like Nicolas Cage in "Valley Girls."

Don't forget your Swatch Watch and Oakley's!

Aw thanks Rocky. I feel better now

    Some pre-80s party homework?

Rent some kick-ass 80s movies and see what they offer.

There's stuff like The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, The Goonies, Flashdance, Weird Science, Karate Kid, which are all good. Or you can do a Google image search on some 80s bands to see what photos come up and what they're wearing in them (Dexys Midnight Runners, Flock of Seagulls, General Public, Devo, Duran Duran, Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper).

    Hey,

I'm sure Jeff can handle himself quite well... actually I know that because we have about 30 scenes of him handling himself but let's not scare the poor kid to death *quite* yet

I just spoke to him and he's out this afternoon raising awareness about global warming, but he'll be back later tonight and he's promised to respond himself.

Hey guys! Sorry I've been busy with school and my job... as I said I am somewhat of a political activist... but yeah I really don't have any 80s stuff... anyone have any ideas for a way I can get some basic clothing and make it LOOK 80s? I also have lots of friends I can borrow stuff from...

Salvation Army and Goodwill are your best bets.
