    Micro$oft: IE7 Ships in a few weeks

    Hi y'all,

maybe interesting for a some of you since not all want to have IE7 automatically on their system:

Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) was just about ready to be shipped. The company also warned that, a few weeks after the browser's release, it would be distributed via Automatic Updates. In order to prevent mass chaos, Microsoft has said that the automatic installation of the new browser can be prevented, but how?
    Link tells how.

Ah you guys are going to hate IE 7. Brace for a drop in sales. IE 7 considers "target_blank" a pop-up and doesn't open them unless the surfer control clicks the link.

This is not going to be fun.

Yeah that's a bugger alright -- there's lots of funny security things about it.

On the plus side though ppl can easily subscribe to your rss feeds. It's faster in many respects than ie6 in my opinion. Hmm what else oh yeah those tab things are interesting.

I for one will not be supporting it by installing th@ crap on a permanent box. If I have issues or hear from members, I will simply build a box; test whatever new issues arise with this garbage; remove harddrive and place it in ew_nix box and rm the mutha!

Firefox rocks my socks plenty fine!

I have been using IE7 for a while now (since it was in beta testing) and I’ve had no problems with it, other then things aren’t in the same place as they are in IE6. I’ve tested it out on JUB and other sites that use all types of ad delivery, 100% CSS based designs, and use of Javascript/Ajax, etc… without any problems. I’ve had no problem with it blocking target=”_blank” links as a pop up either.
You'll get more with a kind word and a 2 by 4 then you'll get with just a kind word.

No, I didn’t tweak anything at all. I just downloaded the browser and browsed the net like I normally would.
