Thursday Night Gay Webmaster Outing in L.A.: Chico's Angels

OK, so Don and I are off to see Chico's Angels Episode 1 this Thursday night at the Cavern Club Theater in Silver Lake. Anyone else in L.A. want to attend with us? It would be the perfect webmaster gathering. Margaritas, Latino men in hilarious drag, murder, intrigue, slow-mo catfights, cha-cha pumps, musical parody numbers like "For Your Thighs Only" and more belly-laughs than you'll remember having in a 2-hour period for a LONG LONG time.

Come on, folks! This show is absolutely HYSTERICAL, and has become a huge underground cult sensation. Celebrities routinely show up for performances (Pam Anderson was on the list this past Friday), and the show probably won't be back until next year, if at all. The Scenario: Someone is killing off the contestants in the Miss Cumquat Beauty Pageant. It's up to bumbling Chico's Angels Kay Sedia, Frieda Laye and Chita Parole ("three Latin girls who went to the police academy--and failed to graduate") to go undercover on the scene and solve the crime--if they can stop messing up long enough to focus on the case! Based on the popular Charlie's Angels episode "Pretty Angels All in a Row."

Honestly, there are times when I laugh so hard I think my bladder is gonna fall out of my ass! LOL!

A favorite line from episode 3:

Kay Sedia and Chita Parole are having a fight over the hot guy (again!), and at one point, Kay yells "You are going to feel so stupid when... Oh wait a minute!" Then she walks over to Chita, rubs her arm, and yells, "You DO feel stupid!"

There's always a big choreographed fight sequence with the Angels doing something hilarious, and lots of sexual innuendo going on. It's not so much "camp" as it is just really, REALLY funny! After the first 10 minutes, you totally forget that it's three men in dresses. They ARE the Angels.

I made a reservation for four already, but I will call and add more people to it. I'll make it for 9. Make sure, though, that the people show up. The show sells out quickly, so I don't want to reserve tickets that won't get used. I'm good friends with the cast and director, so I would feel bad if they don't get paid as much as they could.
