    Paysite vs Paysite Community

Just wondering your thoughts on the effectiveness of building a paysite community or a straightforward wysiwyg type of paysite.

On one hand, building a community obviously has the potential to reach more people and loyalty would probably be pretty high. On the other hand, it also adds another layer between the surfer and the join button.

Sites like JUB seems to have such a great sense of community. Anyone want to share their thoughts ?

It's much easier to build a paysite versus a community! JUB did/does it very well and i don't think it's easily duplicated or you would see many more.

The problem I see with turning a community site into a paysite is the lack of POV. A large sucessfull community is likely to have broad tastes and megasites are pretty hard to market in my opinion.
