lessee... buzz himself is a nice guy to talk to through emails and responds within a day usually. the site content is pretty good, and the site does a full update more than once a day. since buzz used to do photography for dirk yates, they get to use some of that content for the site.

have any specific concerns or questions?

The backend is pretty good. I bought a membership. If you have a mac, it's probably not worth joining because the streaming didn't work and they use DRM which left only one option, the .mp3 option which was available only on a couple of models. Still, looks very promising and I hardly ever buy a membership so they're doing something right.

Hi Richard! We launched BuzzWest.com in June of 2006 after working with Dirk Yates for over 6 years. I hosted the DirkYatesLive website, and managed all of the online affairs for All Worlds Video. Sorry you couldn't get the streaming to work Huskyhunks. Did you try the "Flip for Mac" software by chance? If you have time to check some things out with me, I'd love to see if we can figure out why it doesn't work for you. We understand that there are many configurations and options for MAC users, however we have many MAC users that work fine, but some don't. It would be helpful to work with someone. Yes, I understand that. We have a couple of MAC people working for us that pushed for this, however Quicktime files and mpgs are totally out there an unsecure media, so it only takes one person to post the files everywhere and there is nothing that I can do. The streaming that we have now is still somewhat secure as it is a little different than other streaming and harder to save. Easy way to tell, is check the FREE video clip with your MAC. If it works without being a member, it will work when you join. If it doesn't work for the free clip, then it won't work in the member area either.

We use a MAC here at our offices also, and it works fine without downloading anything further. We use OSX with Firefox without a problem, no Flip4Mac or anything. We changed the stream to get MOST of the MAC people working, but there are a few that we just can't get to work, and for those, we just refund their money. IMO, I really want to please the masses and focus on a good product. I'm open to opinions always, and that's how we ended up going with the secure steam. If we're to create truly unique content, how else do we protect that?

I don't think there's a way around the security issue with the mac now. If security is a huge factor then it's worth issueing refunds for the small amount of mac users who can't access the content.

I can certainly understand the security concerns. Sometimes you just can't please or be able to facilitate everyone even with your good intentions.

Buzzwest is a beatutiful site with gorgeous models. But may i suggest one thing? You may want to resize the images before displaying them on your website. Forced resizing in the html is distorting the edges in your images and making them look jagged.

I appreciate that. All of the images ARE resized to 3 different sizes on the site, with the exception of the larger thumbnails which are created dynamically. I'll see what I can do to fix that.
