Poor guy!! When I was in the Army I spent a week straight, 12 hours a day, shoveling snow at an Army base in Maryland in the middle of January. This was my first week on base, and let me tell you, I'm also from California, had never lived anywhere it snowed, and I had NO IDEA how to shovel snow in the first place! But I still had to do it 12 hours a day for a week! That's the Army for ya.

I'm sooo glad I'm no longer in the Army -- winter warfare exercises allways added a gazillion more pounds to pack about. And more bone chilling nights in the snow than I care to think about.

I'm sooo glad I'm no longer in the Army -- winter warfare exercises allways added a gazillion more pounds to pack about. And more bone chilling nights in the snow than I care to think about.

We ended up doing an overnight field exercise in Maryland in early January as well. Pup tents suck in the winter. I had to sleep with my rifle in my sleeping bag just so it would stay warm enough to hold with my bare hands! There's nothing like snuggling up to an M-16 at night!
