    Fratmen: Going Down

OK... the reason I've been so busy and not around lately has been this:

Fratmen is shooting our major shoot this week.

Fratmen - Alumni Weekend 5: Australia

We fly down to Sydney in about 24 hours...

We'll be down there or 10 days shooting AW5 in Sydney, Brisbane and our "secret major location" and I'll be shooting what I hope turns into my Fratmen directorial debut: Fratmen Going Down. It's going to be a sort of "making of" documentary for the DVD and maybe the podcast.

    I just can't wait.

The fact that Fratmen is able to fly seven people down to Australia and shoot a full movie for our site is a testament to how well our affiliates have been doing promoting Fratmen and how much fun we've been having bringing members consistently excellent movies and previously un-seen models to our members.

I want to thank all of our affiliates for their hard work, and I want to make sure that all of you here at GWW who are promoting us are on my content mailing list and are getting all the marketing resources they need.

Email me if you need any help.

I'll see if I can bring back a Koala for you. Stuffed or otherwise.:jasun:

Congratulations Jasun. You guys have a great program and your guys are hot so its no wonder they sell. As an affiliate, you barely even have to try and you will make money on fratmen.

Hope you have a great time down under. Don't work too hard... make sure you have time to play. All work and no play makes soilwork a dull boy and we can never have that!

Australia is a great place to spend 10 days!!!

However, when Immigration asks you , "Are you a felon?" DO NOT respond by saying "I didn't think that was a requirement anymore!"

Also, some customs agents think you need to declare _breath mints_ on your declaration of "food items" brought into the country.

    Have a GREAT TIME JASUN!!!!

I disagree, they are protecting an island nation from a lot of horrible stuff that stupid people think they can bring in without issue, like bananas which have a fungus common to foreign crops which could destroy the entire country's banana industry in no time. And they do it with a smile and a kind demeanor.

I do, however, think USA immigration totally sucks. Their queues are often hours long and the customs inspectors are rude and extremely arrogant. Not to mention being treated like a crim having to provide fingerprints and digital photos.

Customs and Immigration in BOTH countries are tough, but so are other countries. I have not ever been in a queue that was hours long but usually wish there were more staff.

I had to send in a 15 page application to get my Australian visa--sent my passport to the embassy and it came back with the visa attached. I would have thought a country that used to be a penal colony would not be so strict but Australia is the strictest I have experienced. Normally the Australian visa can be done online, but the online application is not available if you have had criminal convictions, and I have had drunk driving convictions. Better to tell the truth upfront than try explain "I forgot about that time I was in jail..." Plus I had a classified security clearance when I was in the Navy and they want to know about stuff like that. Australia wants to know more about anyone with specialized military training.

My most difficult experience was leaving the Beirut airport--I had my passport checked 5 times. The easiest was entering Prague. I got off the plane, waited 4 minutes in line for passport control, my bags were already on the carousel, and passed right through customs. Less than 10 minutes total. Usually it takes longer than that just to get bags on a domestic flight, much less customs and immigration. Of course, I look like an innocent Iowa farm boy ;-) I usually have no troubles and I have nothing to hide, plus I can turn on the innocent farm boy charm and they realize I am not a threat.

Dude they have you so brainwashed

Customs is about money, pure and simple. Australia imports a lot of fish, fruits and vegies from indonesia and other Asian countries. Bringing fruit in has nothing to do with disease and everything to do with you having to replace it with Australian food after you enter the country Don't be fooled, the world was safe from fungus and disease before Australian customs was created :bunny:

And I agree US customs and immigration sucks as well. Britain is a bitch too. Other countries I've been to have been real easy.

I remember when they found that crop in 2001, they had to wipe out acres of farmland to stop it from becoming a national problem and potentially wiping millions of dollars in agricultural income.
