Crazy Stuff - People Still Using Content From A Convicted ****

Im constantly amazed at some of the idiots in the adult industry, i mentioned to someone on ICQ a couple of days ago that i still see TGPs posting galleries full of (and paysites using on their tours!) Dawgys old content sets, sets that most of us deleted the second we heard about his arrest.

I mean WTF? If a person that you purchased 'twink' content from is convicted of creating child porn for distribution/publication you dont continue to use the fucking stuff on your websites, thats just common sense.

As i say, im constantly amazed at how stupid some people in the industry are, especially when it comes to the potential of jail time.

Well that's the thing. Compare the # of webmasters that actively post here with the number of webmasters that are likely out there on the whole and we're but a tiny percentage.

The vast majority of folk out there have no clue about all the drama that surrounded him and what happened.

Not to mention the fact that goodness knows who Dawgy sold stuff to and under what conditions. Sold stuff to someone, giving them permission to turn around and sell it to someone else, who posted it here and there and everywhere.

When the distributor told everyone to pull that Cobra Video title with the alleged underage model from the shelves, I saw on tons of boards people saying they could still see the titles on the racks of their local adult bookstore. Retailers totally clueless as to what had happened. Who knows if they were even tapped in to the distributor, or they'd gotten the titles in their used bin from a customer who traded it in, so on so on.

There's probably someone out there with a cyanide-laced Tylenol bottle in the back of their medicine cabinet somewhere.

That is the unfortunate thing however, in the case of the paysite still using his content on the tours that i have seen, the owner of the site in question is very much aware of the whole 'Dawgy' incident but still continues to use the content.

I think the last I read from the prosecutor's office that convicted Dawgy was that he was sentenced to several years in federal prison; I just don't recall the specifics. Can someone find that press release and link to it? The prosecution in Canada was covered by newspapers there but what I saw from Texas came from the DOJ.

That being said, Dawgy's content does not need to be taken down because the producer went down [pun intended]. The content may be perfectly legal, with legal age models and full documentation so the only reason to take it down would be to disassociate with a proven child molester. Of course, having content that was produced by a guy who was convicted not once by twice of sexual activity with children is just stupid. Not illegal, but stupid.

Even after Dawgy plead guilty there were still a few voices sticking up for him, surmising that he may have plead guilty to a lesser charge to avoid the possibility of being wrongly convicted of a more serious charge, and that Dawgy was still innocent of all the accusations against him. In my opinion, the evidence was overwhelming that Dawgy knowingly engaged in sexual activity with children under the age of 18. And that was just the evidence made available to the public through press releases, not the evidence known only to the prosecution and defendant that likely would show even more events of molestation!

My experience in joint prosecutions with the US Attorney's Office and knowledge of the federal system tells me that when someone is charged with a federal crime [a few isolated exceptions of course] it is not a matter of _IF_ the defendant will be convicted, but what the sentence will be. The federal system is overburdened so only solid cases are charged. We may presume that a defendant is innocent until proven guilty, but if a federal criminal charge is brought against someone, that defendant is easily proven guilty of the crime charged and a few other crimes not charged as well.

    Thanks Patti. I stand corrected.

I think he was convicted of luring a 14 year old for sex in Ottawa though, right?

And then producing CP in Texas, not having sex with minors. Just filming them.

I had to search to make sure I had my facts straight. Here is what I found after a web search:

Dale Eric Beckham was charged on March 6, 2005 by Canadian authorities with luring a 14 year old boy to his hotel room in Ottawa [Ontario, Canada] for sex. He was convicted of possession of images of child pornography in Canada, sentenced to time served and deported.

He was then charged upon his arrival in Houston on November 24, 2005, taken into custody and plead guilty to transporting child pornography July 6, 2006.

I could not find what his actual sentence was, but it was a minimum of 5 years and maximum of 20 years in prison. He was supposed to be sentenced October 27, 2006.

He was charged and convicted of producing child pornography with the intent to publish (or distribute) from what i recall, the last time i read something no actual length of sentence was made public.

So in effect, he was taking pictures and movies of children with the intent to publish them online.. Anyone not having taken down ANY content they purchased from him after those charges needs to have their heads examined.

    Lee

Here is the Press Release from the US District Attorney's Office:

WOODLANDS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO TRANSPORTATION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

HOUSTON, TX – Dale Eric Beckham, 33, pleaded guilty before United States District Judge Melinda Harmon on Friday, July 7, 2006, to transportation of child pornography.

Beckham was arrested March 6, 2005, in Ottawa, Canada, and initially charged with luring a 14-year-old boy he met over the Internet to a hotel room, where they had sex. Beckham traveled from his Woodlands area home to Ottawa with a laptop computer and a digital camera, which were seized upon his arrest by Canadian officers for luring and pornography charges. Beckham pleaded guilty to Canadian charges involving the possession of child pornography images and was sentenced in November 2005 to time served since his March 6, 2005, arrest. Thereafter, the Canadian government deported Beckham and banned him from returning to Canada for one year.

The defendant has been in federal custody without bond since his arrest November 24, 2005, upon his return to the Houston area from Canada. After a search of Beckham’s home in the Woodlands on March 11, 2005, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials found hundreds of images of child pornography on his computers, including pictures of children younger than 12 years of age engaged in sexual activity with adults.

At sentencing, scheduled for October 27, 2006, Beckham faces is no less than five (5) years and up to 20 years imprisonment, as well as a $250,000 fine, $100 special assessment and any term of years up to life of supervised release.

The conviction is the result of an investigation conducted by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Martha Minnis.
