You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

    Mens Names + Signups?

So i was just wondering, those of you who have sites where you use a models name to sell a membership, have you found that certain names work best over others?

    Regards,

i think a gay site with the masculine type name like "lance" in it would sell better than a site with a name like, oh say, "tracy" in it.

just one person's opinion $0.02 :innocent:

The name should reflect the content…

In wrestling you have names like Justin Credible and the older porn stars took the stripper names to heart… *Peter North*

    Too gimmicky IMO

If you have a twink site you could use names like Tommy, Billy or Ricky (The youthful names of Tom, Bill and Rick)

Tom, Bill and Rick could be used for a college age theme

Lance, Devon and Henry sound EU – Devon also sounds snotty (Think Blair or Buffy)

I said, like a smart ass “Craig” but if you had a Scottish redhead site – Craig is a good Scottish name, to be honest.

And you wouldn’t have an Asian site filled with Christopher’s or Jose’s

And if it’s a Japanese site – The names wouldn’t have L in them.

May not be a good answer to how the names attract sales but if the names fit the niche, I don’t see how it could hurt.

I have a human resouce background, and I can tell you there have been studies to see whether employers would be more likely to hire people with ethnic sounding names or American sounding names. Resumes with identical experience and education were sent out with different names on them. Can you guess which resumes got interviews? It was the Scotts and the Kellys and the Smiths, not the Joses or the Meerkeeps or the Trans. So, I can tell you that in the professional world of hiring people in business, the American sounding people get hired first. It's completly illegal and it still happens anyway. I'm not going to comment on how I think this relates to the gay porn industry, but feel free to draw your own conclusions.
