TGP owners are now having to charge webmasters to submit galleries to their shitty TGPs so that they have a heap of updated content for free?

This is what $100 can buy you..

Daily submission (including a recip link) to a TGP
Guaranteed listing (so long as you follow the rules)

Perhaps its just me but..

What am i actually paying $100 for that i wouldnt get for free anyway?

There's quite a few tgp's wanting you to pay them for top spots - and some linklists as well.

True... people have been paying for top spots for years... I wasn't thinking that. I guess I was thinking that this was for a *regular* submission. The top spots part I totally get - and can agree with.

*sigh* I miss the days of a top spot listing on Greenie's and Tommy's all in the same afternoon... for FREE! The traffic! The traffic! I lived off that stuff in my newbie days - it kept me in sign-ups and fat checks @ the PO Box.

Thats true however in this instance it was paying for the privellage to submit to a TGP not get any type of top listing

I submit galleries daily. 100$ for year - it is not large amount. But owners become impuden. May be they will get payment for each click on my gallery???

We do run a couple of very busy TGPs and quite frankly there are ways around managing submissions.

This is a bit of a disturbing trend in the industry, I think it is much smarter for TGP owners to offer partner accounts only if they want to control their submitted galleries. Personally I don't pay for submissions but I already had a partner account at a lot of those places which have started charging...and most of them let me keep submitting

i like posting my galleries for free, but there are definitely some tgps i'd pay for listings on. four years ago, one tgp was charging $20 per month for regular listings, and i emailed him right away to ask to pay it.

sure, i wouldn't pay it to a tgp where i don't get signups, but some tgps send great signups and plenty of traffic, so why not?
