Very sad news re: Andy Dill

Hey folks,

I'm almost hesitant to post this, but we were just informed that our friend and colleague Andy Dill came down with a bad case of menengitis and is not expected to make it. He's in the hospital in San Francisco, and from what I've been told, the disease did very grave damage to his brain. Evidently, the family will be saying their goodbyes very soon.

This is, of course, very sad news. Andy is one of those great guys that can get along with just about anyone, and he was often a wonderful presence on this board, as well as several others.

If any of you pray, this might be a good time to do so, or just to keep Andy's family and his partner in your thoughts.

I will let you know if I hear anything more.

This is such sad news. Andy is such a great all-around guy. If there is such thing as miracles, now would be a good time for one.

Oh wow! This is terrible. Andy was one of the friendly faces I always looked for at conferences. What a kind and gentle man. I'm praying he pulls through.

Update: I just received the news that Tim (Andy) passed away 1/2 hour ago.

I'm still a bit in shock. This is very hard news to process.

Tim and I had actually talked about doing a site together recently. I kept telling myself to give him a ring and get it going. I also have very fond memories of fun evenings spent with Tim in L.A., San Fran and Phoenix. He was always a fun guy to pal around with.

I am so sorry to hear this. I only met Andy a couple times conferences, but he was always cheerful and helpful. The industry has lost a really good person.

I'm absolutely crushed. The little I got to know of Andy, I loved. He was a great guy and great addition to this business.

Out of the blue a couple of weeks back he e-mailed just to say how much he appreciated the extent to which I promote Bear Films and how happy he was with my stats. He made my day.

Shit, this really sucks.

I'm in shock. I had just seen him in Phoenix a few months ago and he was fine. Shows how suddenly these kinds of things can happen. Poor guy.

Wow, this is a shock. I've talked to him on occasion and finally got to meet him in Phoenix ... please extend condolences from Che and I as well.

I feel the same way as everyone else here. I spent a good bit of time with Andy at all the shows. It's amazing. I even saw him signed on Yahoo like last week is seems.

I'm so sad.
