    Underage stars in bars

How is it that stars like 20 year old Lindsay Lohan can freely walk into every nightclub in LA, NY and Vegas? She walks out trashed, so it's obvious that she was served while on the premises. Why don't these bars immediately lose their liquor licenses?

And it's not like Lindsay is the only person doing this. She just springs to mind because she is ALWAYS partying. Lol.

In Australia the drinking age is 18... so they usually start at 15 on up partying.

I think the drunk underage stars are probably on European time.. where it's legal.

You can die for your country at 18 but can't drink until you're 21.. give me a fucking break

I've wondered about that ever since the stories of the eleven-year-old Drew Barrymore doing things like that

simply because shes rich and famous.

I had a friend go out to clubs all the time when she was underage. She got in because she went with older, well dress people and she was very attractive. She also said in LA, the bouncers never know if you're very connected or related to someone famous, so if you fit the clientle of the club (or if you posisbly bribe them) they'll let you in. If they refuse entrance to someone who is actually famous (who they dont know or recgonize) or someone well connected, they could lose their job.

As for celebs like Lindsay Lohan, if she goes to a club that means people will line up to get in too and make your place a success.

i'm guessing most have been drinking before they get to these establishments and/or are provided drinks by friends while there.

sincerely ~ ..."now be a good bodyguard and get me a drink!"... :fool:

not all clubs bars and restaurants open their doors to celebs... as a matter of fact, i've seen plenty of celebs thrown out because they were drunk and disorderly or even worse, didn't pay the bar bills... nobody around here likes trouble makers

I remember Zsa Zsa Gabor getting thrown out of our favorite Italian restaurant a very long time ago for not paying up on her tab - her attitude was that the business did well and profited by having famous celebs such as herself eat there regularly - not a problem for the owner, it was just the large parties she would bring along with her !

most respected celebs in this area (Beverly Hills) handle themselves well and are fairly easy to get along with - just as long as they don't block the streets by leaving the doors to their Range Rovers and Bentleys open to block traffic!

    Lindsay is very cute BTW

In Canada mostly the drinking age is 19, in Quebec 18. I know living a couple hours from Detroit growing up, underage people could go to bars, and people of age would get wrist bands denoting to bar tenders they could drink, and a large X on the hands of the underage people. This would ensure that younger people not of age could go see some bands play or something. I don't know where the 21 years old rule originates from in the states, but i think it is the highest age limit in the western world. But i don't understand how that holds up legally, so you can drive a car at 16, get in the military at 17, get married freely by 18, vote by 18, buy cigarettes by 18, stand for many types of offices by 18, 21 seems like a random arbitrary number. why not 22 or 27? has anyone ever challenged this in the courts? I will tell you one thing however the 21 rule is good for the tourism industry in Canada and Mexico. In Montreal this past summer every floor of my hotel was occupied by American 18-20 year olds, drinking and spending lots of money! good for our economy i guess...

Canada can be a bit backward too, in Ontario all liquor is sold in government run and operated liquor stores, up until a free years a ago last call was 1am (now it's 2 and special events 4) and don't kid yourself there are a lot of problem drinkers in Canada too.

But why don't these LA bars lose their liquor licenses for serving underage customers? I'm very surprised that M.A.D.D. and other organizations don't make a big stink about it.

Maybe because it can't be proven they hand't drank before going to the club or hadn't been given a drink by a patron in the club, or didn't keep their own stache in their purse.

And really... you're worrried about underage drinking when the role models like Paris Hilton are caught with weed in their purse, Nichole Richie caught with heroin... they are all anorexic... but drinking in a bar is the big problem?

There has been a cultural change happening the last 5 years from the teenies to twenties. We've benefited from this as bisexual is trendy and everyone wants to be a porn star... with the good comes the bad I guess :groovy:

for the same reason the clubs aren't closed if somebody od's on drugs

eg River Phoenix and The Viper Room

If you closed all the clubs in LA where underage kids have done drugs or get drunk, there wouldn't be anyplace left in town to go .... !

and believe me, people DO make a big stink all the time but, West Hollywood City Councilmen prefer to make money from alcohol and food taxes than on empty properties that get run down and attract vagrants

I highly doubt that these high-end clubs are all-age establishments. They should be ID'ed and refused entry at the door and not allowed to waltz upstairs to the VIP lounge.

That, by law, is the responsibility of the liquor license holder to prevent. Allowing underage people to become intoxicated on your premises is illegal in every state in the country. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen everywhere anyways. But how can a high-profile club with high-profile customers get away with it in plain sight of everyone in the country?!

Well, that was the answer I was looking for!

The underage drinking is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm hardly a puritan. Lol. But it is alarming to me that these are the role models for children these days. I'm reminded of the episode of South Park with the Paris Hilton "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset". Sad, but true.

I think it's great that young people are more accepting of GLBT people. But I don't think it's good for people to be bisexual ONLY because it's cool. It's cool to be bisexual if that is what you actually are.

I don't have children... never wanted any. In fact, I dislike most children, . But I'm surprised that a father like you is not more concerned about these trends.

The trendy bisexual thing, as far as men are concerned, has nothing to do with being accepting of the GLBT community. It's about showing you have the balls to do whatever it takes to get pussy, and that you, as a "straight man" are so hot that you're desireable to the same sex. All the trendy bisexual men I've encountered are about experimenting with other "bi" or "straight" guys, not gay men. It's a real mindfuck... but real fun to play with.

I've had a number of guys fitting this profile that, over time, I've actually fucked... but refuse to think it's gay.. they just like the way something feels in their ass.

My son is 13 now and the pressure they have is immense and the knowledge he has is amazing, nothing like what I knew at his age.

My son has traveled to a number of countries and experienced many different cultures, he has an advantage of not being tied down to the American cultural norm, he has seen outside the box.

I'm more concerned about my son not saying the word "******". We were having this discussion the other day in regards to the recent racism drama in the states. I told him that saying words can hurt people, but just saying a word in a philisophical discussion, as we were having, does not make you a racist. He refused to say "******". Then we got into this long discussion about, if he said the word to me, did it make him a bad person. So I have a son that feels saying a word makes him a bad person... and he has never said it, and will never say it. My son loves Chris Rock... I noted that Chris Rock calls black people "niggers" in his act all the time is he a bad person, "no" he says. Well Chris Rock calls white people crackers is he bad for doing that, "no" he says. WTF!!!! aaaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhh

OK I rambled... my view, my experience, drunk teen sluts are the least of our worries :high:
