    Looking for good Shopping Cart

    Hi Everyone,

We are looking for a good shopping cart script that will easily integrate with Verisigns Pay Flow Pro, it has been a bitch trying to find anything, but the one we use was easily integrated with our payment gayteway plugin they designed and yet it does not let the user enlarge the picture of the products and has trouble calculating shipping so I have to do flat rate cost for each item which is a pain for us when someone orders multiple items, becuase it charges too much. After an order reaches 14oz it become priority but they still get charged for the indivdual items as if we ship them one at a time.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Scott @ Gay Truckers

Check out X-cart. it works with VeriSign/PayPal (Note we just switched off of them because of PayPal) the cart is somewhat easy to set up, but you may find it hard to customize. They have many add-on and plugins too.

I always recommend both x-cart and zen-cart, both are good quality products that are simple enough to use.

    cheers,

They all should be somewhat customizable to integrate with that gateway. What language are you looking for (ASP / PHP / .NET)?

We basically quit messing with most of them out there and built our own for what we needed. It helped in the long run when we had the hosting business. If something was needed, we just added it and new most everything about the code.

    Happy Thanks for the responses

I think the zen cart is deffently in the running. I found a payment gateway mod I can use, but will test to see if it truley works and wil let you know.

Thanks for the suggestions, cross your fingers and we'll see what happens.

I'll put in a second vote for X-cart. Very well written, a TON of third-party add-ins to do just about anything you want, customizable, great support, lots of features come standard, and it's cheap ($200 or so) Also supports practically every gateway known to man and probably a bunch that no one's ever heard of.

MIVA is a monster - both huge and extensive however, it works and has been around for a long time.

It is an expensive program and the hand shakes with your server can be expensive to set up as well but, it is compatible with almost all forms of payment processing (as far as I know) but then we only accept credit cards.

I can't remember why we didn't go with Xcart to begin with but, we are considering building a new store from scratch in Xcart to run concurrent with our MIVA operation.

    Shopping Carts

    We use three...

    1. MIVA (we are a Premier Hosting partner)
Has a LOT of power and can handle a lot of traffic (Miva 5 is now using mySQL)

    2. Vantagecart.com (built from PinnacleCart)
Inexpensive and has a lot of built in options that MIVA would charge extra for. Good for basic stores and if you are comfortable with some PHP you can really design a good site.

    3. A secrect (http://vod.vantagecart.com)
The first Media Enabled shopping cart that you can also downlaod AND stream videos and music. You can also add DRM to the files if you want (optional). It is build from our relationship with PinnacleCart and the reason I've not been online much the last few months. You can sell real products, and also do download and streaming files. The site is 90% done but it will be finished by next week. We will also kick off a $97 (or less) DRM service (redappledrm) for the cart.

And..to top it all off..we offer a super deal for PayFlow Pro if you still need to get it.

Just drop me a note if you have any questions.
We have been doing e-commerce for YEARS and www.boysinc.com is built on MIVA platform.

    X-cart over Zen cart...

X-cart is more mature the zen-cart. Although Zen cart is pretty nice, front end wise. The administration area has allot less to be desired I think though.

Upgrading between versions of x-cart on a heavily modified site has allot to be desired however. My suggestion is if you're getting started use x-cart 4.1.X, but if you are still stuck on 3 or 4.0.X the upgrade to 4.1.X might not be worth it.
