When does the xmas effect end?

On Sales i mean? My ratios have cut badly today and yesterday, im not expecting sales to pick up now. As i dont work full time, im going to call it day until after Christmas. Are we likely to see a revival in January or is this it now till the end of jan when people get paid again?

btw do you think that attitude is a mistake? I know ill have to work harder to pick traffic up again but if people wont spend im thinking why build the sites?

Naw, I'm slacking off this week on pushing traffic. Instead, I'm using this time to do some renovating of my member's area and resizing all the pics to make them bigger.

I submitted a UGAS gallery yesterday and didn't get a single click to my FPA, so I figured I'm not going to beat my head against a rock.

I think you'll see things pick up right after Christmas. People have time off, they're insane having just spent time cooped up with their families. I don't think it took until the end of January last year for things to recuperate.

Take the time to clean up some stuff or maybe design some new templates.

People normally start seeing sales increases between the 26th and 28th which last for a few days then drop off again around the 30th - 3rd Jan after that, it tends to be a steady build back up to levels prior to Xmas.

    Regards,

Hum good question. I do see the slow down coming signups are slowing down the closer it gets to Christmas. I think the whole xmas effect sometimes last up to a month after Christmas, just depends. I think this month is pretty much over between Christmas and the New Year I don't think it will pickup that much imo. Maybe after New Years I think sales will start picking up.

Fratmen seems to have the total opposite results.

we get a slowdown in the fall, and in December and the Summer we have a HUGE boost.

It may be because our two tent-pole releases for the year are in December and July.

But it also may be because we're what th college guys want to see when they're not at school?

We see a slow down before xmas, then right after christmas (when all those people are setting up their new fast computers) are bored and need to jerk off we see a nice big increase...

Yep the Nightmare before Christmas is here!!!!!! Its still amazing to me how predictable this stuff is every year, with all the independent viewers around the world and webmasters we are still all stuck on the same carousel. I really do love how Lee even predicted the bump or ok sales day between the 27-29, most of us will see. From now on until Jan 3 or so I would take every ok sales days as a gift, and every sale you do make will be more anticipated than any other time of the year.

I will also predict that sales will bounce back after the new year kind of big, so some good sales days are on the other side of this mess, but does this come from all the freaking out many of us will do for the next 2 weeks, or are people just really ready to get back in the swing of things, I am still not sure about that.

I do not know how “cool” going around the dark side of the moon is, but we have been on this orbit for years now so unless you impact on the surface I will see ya on the flip side.

I'm really surprised to hear this - for the last 5 years Dec has been a great month for us. This one is looking very strong too.
