Thread: subdomain question

    subdomain question

    Hi everyone!

Is there an adult version of the plus account (a subdomain, no ads, with monthly fee) of Geocities?

Also, is there an adult version of Typepad (subdomain, no ads, monthly fee)? In the terms of service, there is no specific statement that adult content is allowed. I already sent them an inquiry but there was no definite answer. They said ..."as long as it is within the terms of service"... not at yes or no answer

    Thanks for any info.

There are a lot of virtual adult hosting services around so I'm not following why you're wanting some sort of subdomain arrangement? ... or you needing a host that has some kind of site builder on board?

I always recommend www.chilihost.com and Luke is usually flexible with webmasters and their needs/pricing. Personally, I'd talk to him first, but here are some other options:

    http://www.cyberfreehost.com/index.html - free, uses a text footer

    http://www.pridesites.com/ -- uses subfolder naming

FetishHits Hosting ... can only promo their sites.

http://www.kinghost.com/ - free does have banners

http://wm.pornparks.com/ - free, probably has banners

    For Blogging:

    http://www.thumblogger.com/ - adult blogging
    http://sensualwriter.com/ - adult blogging

    You're welcome Luke.

Also, I did forget to mention that most link lists and tgps won't list anything hosted on a freehost. And I don't know of a host offering the premium style paid hosting you're asking about with a subdomain arrangement.

Not to mention not sure many LL will take sites made with a in house site builder, I think that went out in the 20th century.

I dont mean to cause offense, but if somebody needs a "sitebuilder", do you not think they have chosen the "wrong" industry to get into?

Well its something I did looked into in my first 2 weeks on the job (1998) but never really made a site with any of them. I started using FrontPage, and still use it to this day. Before you guys tell me how much better dreamweaver is, trust me I know its just that I am used to it and really have never needed anything else for a HTML editor. My point is we all need to start some place, but your right sitebuilder are not worth the trouble I could create a better looking site using just my Feet that he could using a sitebuilder

Not really. We all start somewhere. God knows we could use a good sitebuilder and we pull in a decent income. Everyone has talents...maybe like me, he has a shitload of exclusive content and just needs a place to park it. Who knows. But if he needs help to get started...he can learn at his own pace.

I would stay far far away from frontpage for many reasons like the way it bloats code and how it doesn't look the same in all browsers...but most importantly because even MS has dropped support for frontpage and finding a host that will still install frontpage support will be very difficult in a years time, as its being dropped from all the major control panels in their next release.

    cheers,
    Luke
