For me no. But sometimes I have some customers complain...so I offer the clips in one big chunk, and then also in smaller chunks (part One, Two, Three, etc.) for people with issues.

    Just my $0.02

for guys on slower dsl - we have a local company that offers only 768k line - this would be horribly large. for people on fast dsl, the quaity is worth the wait. there is no "one size fits all" video - that's why so many sites offer more than one size.

I guess it depends on how long a clip is. Apple has 480p hi def movie trailers in Quicktime format that look fantastic, and 1.5 minutes is only 32MB.

Maybe even for HD you have too low of a compression ratio? How long is your clip?

    Here's an example: http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/fa...esilversurfer/

pick HD and you see how great they look, but even the largest 1080i file is only 119MB, so again it depends on how long your clips are.

yeah, but paysite movies aren't 1.5 minutes - they're longer - and the big high quality video is 119mb at 1.5 minutes.

I agree totally, which is why we offer some large files like this, but then also break it up for the slower DSL folks.
