    A question for the bloggers!

Ok, so a few gay programs have followed in the straight industries footsteps with "Hosted Blog Entries".

Now for a program these are a lot of work, and many bloggers are turned off by them for a few reasons, the main one being the text in the entries is going to be on so many other websites it will most likely "harm" SEO not help.

    So, i had an idea!

What IF a sponsor provided blog content. This may have been done, however i am yet to see it, but i think it could work a lot better for you guys.

You would download a zip file for each entry, inside having say 10 different image sizes (for different blog layouts), a text file with 3-4 different entry texts, including site descriptions and one liners that could help you quickly build up a uniquely written entry, and maybe some more stuff also if anyone has any suggestions.

What are your thoughts on this?

    Thanks everyone!

Sounds like a digital press release. I get a dozen or so every day.

Sometimes I will just copy and paste verbatim just to fill space, so having a couple pre-written versions would make my job easier. The key words and frequent updates are what matters for SEO.

If you have the time, it would be a helpful offering.

Um I think some affiliate programs are now offering RSS feeds for their affiliates to plug into their blogs. There is also meta-blog software out there that basically scrapes content from other blogs and posts it on a site. The legal issues are sketchy on this but some blog owners welcome the extra traffic..

Sounds like these "new update" e-mails, you'll get from Randy Blue, English Lads, Blake Mason, You Love Jack, Buzz West, Perfect Guyz, Mike Hancock, and many more...

With three different texts to choose from, the same text will still be used at many, many blogs. For those who actually care about SEO, they write blogposts themselves.

Good thoughts, but I do not think it's a new thing.

I agree ... update emails usually contain plenty of material for a blogger and there are programs that have a copy/paste or rss blog tool available. Biggest thing is to either utilize a no follow meta on the post and/or CHANGE UP THE TEXT, so it's not identical to 1200 other guys posting the same info.

Seems that what's happening to the adult blogging trend is that there are far more "splogs"or spam blogs being created than actual original content. Sites like http://gay.fleshbot.com and http://gaypornblog.com/ do a great job of combining humor and quality content, while far too many of the porn "blogs" are just the same old stuff. They are the new TGP's..

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Duplicate blog entries wont hurt SEO at all, its duplicate content on the SAME domain that hurts with SEO.

For example, page.html page1.html, page3.html - all with the exact same text on them.

From what I understand, duplicate content issues go a bit deeper than just the same domain. You can have multiple domains with the same content and be all right. The bigger problem is when those domains all link together or link to a main site (paysite).

    Quote from Searchenginewatch.com

"Multiple domains create as many issues as they address," said Clay. "You can own 100 domains covering significantly different products, linking them to a central domain—each solving the subject-focus issues but creating linking issues. Furthermore, purchasing 100 domains loaded with keywords and pointing them to the same physical site can cause duplicate content issues. Each situation is unique and they all have to be handled differently."

    Another good quote:

"Just because sites are linked to each other does not mean we are going to say the sites are no good," Palka explained. "It's whether or not that the links pointing to your site are also going to give you relevance and popularity. If you only have a bunch of links from only your own sites linking to each other, or excessive reciprocal links or irrelevant links, it could raise a red flag."

I've been researching duplicate content issues just for this reason. Using hosted blog content could possibly penalize affiliate sites as well as the paysites they are linking to. If that's the case, then I certainly wouldn't want to offer it.

Yes thats true Lee, but from what i understand, if 1000+ people all blog the SAME text, thats going to get spidered, and read by the spiders exactly the same, indexing you EXACTLY the same as everyone else who did/does it.

With search engines as they are now, the way to strike lucky is hitting search terms that are not saturated with other people.

Have you not got more chance of doing that by having unique text on your site? From what i have read it is.
