    New Music Thursday!!!

Well, sort of. Not new as in just released, but new as in music don't think others may have heard of.

This is Shelleyan Orphan. They are one of my favorite bands of all time. Very folky but deep and emotional. They only made three albums back in the early 90's and then broke up. I was heartbroken. I found this video last night and was thrilled. I had never seen any footage of them, only a few stills, so I was really excited to find this.

VOICE OF THE BEEHIVE - I Say Nothing

Their music makes me think of them as the kid sisters of The B-52's. But this video reminds me of when French and Saunders used to do that thing where they would come out onto a totally white blank set in some kind of wacky costumes and do a short dance routine that would somehow get screwed up. Flappers, rappers, kabuki performance artists, whatever. I keep picturing them in this video as the "Cyndi Lauper Sisters".

"BURST" is cool. Reminds me of that group "The Sundays" (Sp?) the ones who made "Here is Where the Story Ends" ...

    wonder what became of them

Mad Sin is pretty cool ... but that opening riff seems familiar somehow. Rick Springfield's "Jesse's Girl"?
