On My Way to a Porn Star Bod...

    ...or not.

But tonight I start my six-month workout program with my personal trainer.

Some of you may have seen the cover story in the current issue of Frontiers magazine (www.frontierspublishing.com), with my hot trainer Ronn Burns on the cover.

I've also launched a blog called "Ken Gets Fit" (http://kengetsfit.blogspot.com/) that will track my progress as I go along.

This has been something I've been wanting to do for a long time now, not to pump up and "get hot" but simply to feel better about myself and my body. It's something I'm doing first and foremost for myself. I've struggled with "gym phobia" and body issues for a while, so this is great "physical therapy" for myself.

Frontiers will check in with me at 3 months and then again at 6 months, and will publish "After" pics at the end. But for anyone who's interested in seeing how things are going between those intervals, feel free to check the blog regularly and post comments. I could use the support!

Who knows? In six months, I might even do a porn movie just to show off my new bod! LOL!

the most important thing is to keep going, even if you can only do a 30 minute workout one day, do it! If you manage to average 3-4 times a week you will be in way better shape and will feel much more energetic too.

Good luck and look forward to checking things out in 3-6 months time.

    cheers,
    Luke

    Good Luck...

I started my own journey January 1st. (Cliche I know.) I got sidetracked by Jack In the Box while visting Vegas for the AEE show, but I am back on track today. I wish you the best.

    Hey Luke,

Thanx for the well wishes. I won't have to worry about sustaining the workout. I will be with my trainer Monday-Thursday, and he will be directing and guiding me during this whole journey. There will be one day a week where I pretty much work out on my own (cardio), but for the majority of it, Ronn will be right there with me making me keep at it. I always excel when I work with other people; that's why I chose to go the personal trainer route, because left to my own devices, I might have a tendency to slack off. Once Ronn gets me going and I become more comfortable with the routine, I'm sure I will be able to pick up on my own after a few months.

It will be 5 days a week for the first 3 months, then 3 days a week after that, depending on the results we get at the 3-month point.

    Ken

Haha. Probably not. Or at any rate, I'll only be eating salad! And MAYBE a chicken breast!

UGH... I was going to start again on January 1st, but really didn't. It's a long hard road, but once you start seeing results it's soooooo much easier.

I lifted for two years and then quit for some reason. That was a few years ago. I weigh only 125-130, so back when I was pumping major iron I was totally amazed at the results.

Then the other day I put 110 on the bench (used to do around 150) thinking I was just going to get my bones and muscles reacquainted with the motions, and I couldn't even move it! My max is now 80, but 70 if I want multiple reps.

That's worse off than I was when I started the first time, but I guess that's what webmaster "work" does to you.
I post here to whore this sig.

That seems backwards .. starting you out 5 days a week. How long has it been since you worked out?

for Christ's sake! Why does everyone start new programs at the beginning of the year? The gyms always swell with new members who are totally lost and clueless but, in your case, you're in good hands (at least cute hands)... we've been trying to get himi on camera for a while

does this mean that you'll be at our Gold's? can I bully you around and kick some ass?

don't forget your cardio... everyone always forgets the 'ol ticker when it comes to building the better bod

we walk around our neighborhood about an hour 3-4 times a week - I guess that you could accuse us of being Beverly Hills street walkers ! (that's a joke)

    good luck!

Well, Tony, dear....people are not born with bodies that look like yours so i would say that getting started, at any time of year is a good step.
Besides, it's one more hot man for you to watch evolve....and one more potential star for your movies.

Besides, a fresh guy in the Gym is always appreciated....right?

Ronn (my trainer) says that a lot of the workouts in the beginning will be focused on cardio, since his goal is to burn a lot of the excess weight that I'm already carrying around. We are doing weight resistance during each session, but he swears that he won't give me more than I can handle, and we will be working a different muscle group with each session (except for abs, which will factor into every session).

Ronn said that in order for me to see the results I really wanted, it was necessary to start heavy with 5 days a week. After 3 months, he said we can drop down to 3, depending on the results we've achieved.

So far, I'm enjoying it. Of course, I've only had one session, but oh well..

Feel free to read all about it: http://kengetsfit.blogspot.com/

Well, I actually pitched the story to Frontiers back in August, but they wanted to wait to run it until the new year so that it could coincide with their annual health and fitness issue, which is published--you got it--in January. So it actually wasn't my choice. But it's a good time to get started. Everybody always reassesses their lives at the top of each new year, so it only makes sense that they would start working on things they'd like to fix about themselves...

but, in your case, you're in good hands (at least cute hands)... we've been trying to get himi on camera for a while!
You've been trying to get my trainer on camera for a while? Interesting. I'll have to rib him about that. Just during our session last night, 2 or 3 different people (trainers and clients) came up to us with copies of the magazine and jokingly asked for his autograph. He's getting the "faux star" treatment bigtime right now! It's GREAT! LOL!
