A lot of talk over the last week about Hi-Def photos and video.
Started to make me think, with browser and monitor technology increasing, is a 72dpi design going to become the next hurtle to overcome?

i could be VERY wrong here, but i was told that browsers display at 72dpi. if true, that would be the one thing we don't have to worry about.
btw, digital pics are pretty HD compared to most videos - we just shrink 'em. some high end str8 sites offer pics at 3000x something, which seems pretty HD to me
And after a little research, it seem DPI doesn't apply to a video screen. Only to printed material.
http://www.nicholsonprints.com/Articles/dpi.htm
Shows an example of two images, one at 100dpi and the other at 1dpi. On a video screen they look the same. Where as when the end user tries to print the image, it's becomes mush.

Okay...so for the best screen res in selecting for created images, what would the max pixes/inch ratio to use?
For print - 300+ dpi
For web - DPI seems not to be an issue
Where you have image issues for web is through the compression.

DPI is not so much the question as PPI.....
72 - just go with a higher quaity level.
