    Would You Promote This?

Individual DVD downloads with a non-recurring price point?

For example, a surfer can download a full 90 minute DVD for $15, of which as an affiliate, you would earn 50%, or a specific scene for $5 which you would earn 50%?

Just looking at some different pricing options for a couple of ideas im playing with and wondered if this would be something people would promote or not

It would be DRM free in case that was an issue too

    Regards,

    Lee

Unless you have some really special titles that can't be had at a site like Male Movie Club or Gay Video Box, I think that might be a hard sell.

lee, are you talking about downloadable DVDs that can be burned onto an actual DVD and come with the cover art?

Yes, the sort of thing you get on those 'pirate' movie sites but legit copies.

I've been saying for years that someone needed to do this, but I'm not so sure about charging only $15. I guess it depends on where the content comes from though. Legit made-for-DVD material offered through this should be worth just as much as a physical DVD to consumers. The upside being they get it right away and it's 100% private... probably the two main reasons someone wouldn't buy a physical DVD.

There is however one obstacle to this. Not all new computers come with an ISO burner (maybe none of them do, I don't know). Sonic Record Now (Roxio) may be on the system for disc burning, but they require an upgrade to burn ISO's.

There are some very simple to use freeware ISO burners, but a custom solution would be much better. You buy the DVD on the website, get a PIN number, download and install software, enter PIN into the program and the program downloads the ISO file and then burns it all on it's own. This would totally remove the technical stuff.

DVD studios should have been doing this years ago instead of letting made-for-internet porn chip away at their market share.
I post here to whore this sig.

vivid video and a couple other companies are doing this. i'd day $29.95 or thereabouts could be the right price - and i think this will do well after surfers get used to the idea.

only problem - at least for me - is how to implement this.

I know William Higgins is also working on a download-to-burn site...

    http://www.burndvd.tv

Looks like a "work-in-progress". But since they've already started to tread these waters, you could maybe hit them up for a some advice...
