    the problems i have are

    1. it is the first step in forcing u.s. adult sites onto .xxx, which has been discussed in the past.

    2. it is being offered as a way to protect children, but in reality does not offer any protection other than filtering, which we already have.

    3. domains are more expensive - much.

    4. it is actually against ICANN charter to have a TLD without a reason. .xxx is simply a way to make money for the organization selling the domains but it is being dressed up as a way to protect children or set porn sites apart from other sites. ICANN's own rules say this is not enough. if they break this rule, we'll start having specific domains for things that shouldn't have TLDs - religions, etc.

    Wells aid Patti..

One think you bought up in that post that i am wondering about is.

You said it will only effect US companies? Is this true. I was under the impression ICANN would try force this accross the globe if it got passed? Even thought the legal complications would be endless.

If this is the case, it really isnt the end of the world in my opinion. I know a lot of US webmasters might look at me thinking what the fuck, but its clear that the United States really dont want porn anymore, so guys .. MOVE.

Any serious webmaster has the funds to relocate, Canada? South America?

Why give a government tax many that doesnt want you? Or more to the point, why degrade yourselves to a level of giving it them?

Oforce Patti may have been wrong, but i doubt she shit, shes a clever chick.

Im just wondering how this will effect the rest of the world, and if it doesnt, why its made out the be the end of the world.

I think one thing many many people forget is, "everything changes" ..

    Just my 2cents
