"The best gay affiliate program?" I mean, I'm sure it's a good one, but that's a pretty strong claim and not at all what we typically hear from Bel Ami.

first off, there is no single "best gay affiliate program". different webmaters have different requirements - obviously belami isn't the best program for sites who are only marketing bears or daddies.

then there's the fact that belami doesn't give their affiliates review logins. how is a link list or review site to promote belami without being able to write a review? i was asked by 2 different clients with active accounts to write reviews for them and belami refused to give logins, forcing their own affiliates to BUY memberships or do without reviews.

and honestly, spamming the board for a first post isn't what a smart affiliate program would do. getting to know other community members so one becomes trustable - that is a smart way to get your program's name out there.

i've heard very good things about the content inside belami, so i guess the folks there know their stuff. but perhaps they have a little way to go when it comes to marketing to other webmasters...

Actually we are quite happy to give affiliates access to a review account. It is just in the asking, I don't recall ever refusing anyone access if they wish to review the site. We know that there have been certain 'deficiencies' in our affiliate program, but we have been working hard to link up all of our web properties to the program, not just the membership site, but our VOD and DVD sales sites as well, It should all be live within the month. Other new features will be galleries for affiliates to use in promoting, Flash clips / Trailers and anything else we can reasonably provide. Anyone wanting any more information is more than welcome to make contact. Matt may have been a little enthusiastic in his posting, but in truth if anyone wants to work with us, the best way to go is contact first and we can work out individual ways to help, best suited to each affiliate.
