Using sponsor images... is this OK?

Can one use sponsor images to promote his own tgp site and not sponsor?

    Like these:

and many others from this site...

I would venture to guess that you would likely find sponsors unhappy with any type of usage of their images that does not refer to their program through some sort of linkage.. Sponsors provide images to use as marketing tools/content for promotion of their program not simply free content given away and certainly not for marketing other products not associated with their program.

    short answer: NO!!!

long answer, you need to get licenses to use images. Sponsors give licenses out that allow you to use their images in certain circumstances only, like Tom said, to promote their programs. If you use these images in any other circumstances you are using them illegally. When you are caught (and you will be caught) you will get in trouble, probably lose your sponsor accounts (including any amounts they owe you), probably get your hosting shut off for illegal activities and you will get a bad rep in this business. In short: NO!!!

    cheers,

Btw dalimili, what happened to your TGP? The new page looks nice but UKNM isn't on it anymore.

Best thing to do is ask the sponsor about exactly what you've got in mind. If the tgp solely promoted that sponsor they may be up for it, but if it's promoting multiple sponsors it's unlikely to be allowed.

There is a pretty clear line between content theft and using content to ultimately send more hits to the sponsor.
I post here to whore this sig.

OK, I'm going to break with some of the people here.

A freind of mind called me up once quite upset that someone was stealing our content and his. This guy had actually made a whole pay site using our content that we send out to affilates.

At first, yes I was ready to call in the dogs.

But then I checked out his sales, and they were phenominal. What he was REALLY doing was running a pay-TGP. In other words, he'd done what many of us wished we could do.. strip out the freetards and just let people who were willing to pay for porn into his site, and then he sent them on to me.

Ultimately, I didn't care how he had attracted those members to his TGP, what mattered was that he was finding a way of just advertising to people who were willing to pay for product and then sending them on to my site.

How can I argue with someone who's getting lots of sales and a conversion rate of 1:130.

My attitude is if you can sell that many memberships to Fratmen, I'll help you any way I can, and if other sponsors don't want you to use your content to entice people who wanna buy, well.. their loss.

(however, if you're using my content to promote another program and I'm not getting any benefit, I WILL hunt you down and kick your ass):donmike: :jasun:

Btw, gaysexer.com does send some good traffic. If he wanted to use some of our sponsor images on those variety galleries, we wouldn't be opposed to it... as long as he had some of our galleries on his TGP or other banner/links to UKNM.

I don't really see what the problem is. If the target site is sending good traffic to the sponsors, then using their images to get more traffic to the target site is just going to send more traffic.
