    Best Strategies for building traffic

I've had my live webcam site (nakedfrathouse) syndicated for about 5 years and I launched my own content site (dirtytony) about a year ago.

Now that my affiliate program is live and we're promoting, I was wondering what all you vets think are the most effective ways to build traffic.

How effective are TGPs compared to traffic trades, compared to bought traffic. Am I leaving any other avenues out?

    Thanks!

    TS

PPC advertising is one thing you can look at.

Another may be paid banner space on sites such as manspace.com

TGP traffic well, its a number game. Personally i would invest the money on SE optimisation and get yourself some prime googlers

I am a bit new to the gay scene, but in straight porn you could also get sales from avs systems memberareas, been doing quite okay there - hoping to see the same trend here

AVS traffic is about the best ive seen for ratios. But, and its a big but, the traffic is declining.

usenet traffic is number 1 for sure, just a shame not many sponsors allow it, and the newsgroups dont like it, so that traffic source is gone now..

number 2 is offline marketing, have had a few ads in local newspapers, didnt thought it would convert or anything, but it worked out quite well acutally..

WOW im surpised by usenet. I always figured the avs was good because users has a credit card and have shown willingness to use it. Usenet i figured would be tgp or free traffic quality. I think all my sponsors ban that anyway

nothing like tgp traffic thats for sure... back when I used it, 1:100 was a bad ratio, ofcourse the traffic wasnt that big either

Ok, now I'm feeling really lame. I've been doing this for how many years?

LOL, can somebody help me a little with how AVS traffic works? Suggestions on which ones work the best?

AVS: you build a tour and members area - in the tour try to sell the avs pass. In the members area you sell your sponsors. Read the rules of each AVS as what they will and wont allow varies. If you stick to the rules they list you in their own members search engine which gets you hits from exisiting AVS members. You can then get more AVS traffic but submitting your site to links lists and directories that list AVS sites.

AVS traffic is less than free and tgp but, the traffic is MUCH better quality. This is because you need a credit card to join the AVS in the first place so they have a credit card and have used it to buy porn online before, and probably are getting bored of the AVS sites so will look for something better.
