Is it possible to search and replace banners and text links without doing it manually to each site and each gallery page?

is there a software that will do a search and replace on a domain via ftp?

You can use Allaire Homesite or Dreamweaver to do an extended search and replace within a folder on your local disk (it scans all files within that folder and changes them) then upload the new files.

I am sure there are other programs that will do this too.
