I have been looking around allot, and from what I can tell these guys have the best portfolios, But I have seen really good portfolios in the past yet when it comes to my sites they never turn out that way. Anyone want to recommend these guys? Or bitch about them? Or suggest another one that far exceed your expectations?

I guess what you really need to do is talk to them all, in depth, and find out how they work.
I am sure the work you need doing, you have already created a "vision" for in your head, and you need to find a person who can create your vision.
There are thousands of great designers out there, with impressive portfolios, but i know that a lot of these big companies dont work with clients, they just create something "they" like, and hope the client is happy, however their ability to "create" something that isnt in their usual "style" is what usually becomes the problem.
I think your best bet is finding a company that isnt "huge"... Maybe a team of 1 or 2 guys, and find out if they will work closely with you to create your vision, not theirs.
Ya I am talking with http://www.sexxxydesign.com right now them seem to be able to do the graphics I need. Really the graphics and front effects is what I care about most, cut-outs and image replacements are easy for me, I just need a good starting point.
Who knows though man, portfolios from my limited experience seem almost totally BS, yet if they can not even create good fake portfolio list, I just move on. I think what I will do is pay 3 or so of them to do some promo stuff, then see who’s works stands out the best. This way I can use at least a tested designer for my future tours.
the first thing that stands out about http://www.sexxxydesign.com is that their work seems to have a lot of small graphic extras as decoration on the pages rather than the pages - with design elements - being made as a single planned out page with design elements as part of the original plan.
and don't get me wrong - for some kinds of design, that can lead to more impact.
i didn't notice any gay designs, which doesn't always matter, their portfolio is on the smaller side and a lot of the work is pretty similar. but sometimes that means they'll work that much harder for you.
I did like some of the graphics they did, but I am not sold on anyone yet. Its just that cut-outs and all that I can handle so really the graphics are a big deal to me. Should be a bit heavy on graphics but also with this page I need a almost amateur feel too it, god I am sure they are going to love me LOLOriginally Posted by basschick

there is no one right answer so i'd say your best bet is to go with someone skilled who agrees in advance that if things aren't done to your specs, they will keep working till they have created what you described at the outset of the project.
that way, if your directions and samples you make are clear, you pretty much have to end up with what you want.
Reflected Ideas are good people, so are Sexxydesign
I would have no problems recommending either of them

THax Lee, wish the last guy had a portfolio to look at seems their site is under constitution. That is kind of weird for a designer, you would think they would know to make the updated site first then do the update, but maybe he’s just not taking new biz.

THax Bass I am sure your right, as long as they are willing to fix it and do what I ask I am sure I will at the end of the day get what I want, but really my head is spinning with all this. I can wait for few month I bet his designs convert very well I asked if I could have my design for May or June ... yes a bit pricey but seems really worth it
