    Feedback on new site?

I just re-built my affiliate site and I'd like to get some feedback.

    http://www.lavenderlounge.biz

FYI, I wrote the text with newbie webmasters in mind.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

IMHO id write it to appeal to mid-level webmasters, the chances of a newbie webmaster actually finding your program and signing up if you dont spend ad dollars on a regular basis is slim.

You have to consider that most newbs today are going to sign up for the PPS programs before revshare programs because they are the programs all their board whore buddies are 'making money' (LOL) with.

I wrote the text aimed at newbies to be a "how to" sign up for an affiliate program. I figured experienced webmasters would just skip the text and look for contests and giveaways, which I'm not offering yet.

Other than the text, any other feedback?

    if you want feedback:

the colour scheme seems amateurish.. the page needs to be centered, the actual banner (on top "lavender lounge") seems like it needs more work, the signup up page should just be the signup page.. so directly signing up.. are you promoting two affiliate programs on one affiliate page?

Thanks, mr.sexbankroll, I agree with everything you said.

The next step is to make it pretty, but for right now, I want to know if it is self-explanatory. Since you asked about whether it's two programs or one, that's the kind of feedback I'm looking for.

(The answer to you question is that as I build more pay sites, I want webmasters to sign up for any one of them from LavenderLounge.biz. Was that not explained properly?)

Lee, you must be spending a lot of time on GFY again. I believe your statement to be completely untrue for the gay market segment. It's definitely true for the straight 'GFY' newbs. But I still think most gay webmaster newbs are just fine with revshare. Sure, if offered both PPS and revshare, many may choose PPS. But when there aren't both options offered, most webmasters will be happy to choose revshare.

And of course I disagree with this as well. Lol.

Newbie webmasters are just as likely to find an unadvertised affiliate program as a mid-level or pro webmaster. How? By surfing around and following links just like everyone else. And a site like LavenderLounge probably has a gazillion non-affiliate links floating around because of all of the free public event and industry event photos they post. I bet there are thousands of incoming links to LavenderLounge that go like this... "Hey guys, check out these free photos I found on this site from Folsum 2006"

Btw, I think advertising an affiliate program to be a complete waste of time.

Why such a brash statement? Well, how do you find paysites to promote? I usually find the by chance from visiting TGPs, blogs, AVS galleries, etc. and see what everyone else is promoting. I also get recommendations from friends and see posts on GWW from program owners. By the time I see an advertisement for an affiliate program on a forum or other resource site, 99% of the time I have already heard of them and either joined or written them off as not suitable for my traffic.

Well, i could use my imagination for what you were trying to do. With an affiliate program, you usually want to keep these sites in the "site" section. I understand what you're trying to do, but when selling something, you usually sell the product first, THEN upsell. my 2cents anyways

Hi, Mark, I'd mention on the initial page for tools, not just "galleries", but "free hosted galleries". That's a big selling point for me for a sponsor.

Also, for "cascading billing", you may wish to explain that Epoch pays commission even for sales under the alternate billers.

I like the look of the pages; it has a personal touch. With that and your personal statements, I can trust that you understand the gay market. Overly-slick sponsor promotion pages make me less trustful of the sponsor and more likely to think that their sites are cookie cutter sites that won't sell well.

Yeah that's pretty awful I'm sorry to say. it's got to look a little better than that or folks will just pass up on it because of the half-baked look alone.
