Embedded Pornotube/Xtube in Wordpress

Hello boys, girls, and whatevers :-)

I have run into a wall on my blog. I can't seem to successfully embed videos I have uploaded to PornoTube and Xtube. I don't seem to have a problem with Youtube. But then again, I am not running a site where having youtube videos is needed. Does anyone know of a good plugin in Wordpress that easily allows the ability to embed videos?

Hey, I don't know if this helps, but I've had a problem with embedding in WordPress in the past. What was happening was that I would embed a file. Then save it in order to preview it, and then end up going back to edit text or something. Anyway, once you embed a video, and then go back and change something, for some reason WP strips the code so it won't work. What you basically have to do is do the embedding that the text in all at once, publish it, and never touch it again! (or touch it, but make sure to re-embed the vid)

I'm new to WP myself, so forgive me if this is totally common knowledge already and completely unhelpful :crazyeyes:

i'm running wordpress an i have no problems at all embedding xtube et al.

the thing i'd recommend is turning off the visual rich editor for best results. in your wp-admin go to options/writing and uncheck "Users should use the visual rich editor by default"

that did the trick for me -- you'll have to manually add tags to your posts for formatting but who doesn't know enough html to do that?

Thanks guys for your responses! Xtube denied my clips stating copyright issues even though the studios sent the clips to us to use for advertisements. I don't want to fight it. Pornotube shows up no problem now but the size of the video is too large and I haven't been able to successfully shrink the video. Also it messes up the rest of the blog. I will take Karl's suggestion and turn off the rich text editor. Woot!

i had the same problem posting vids for my last company. Apparently Xtube only want their own 30 second clips and thousands and thousands of crap-quality amateur j/o clips on their site. :thumbsdown:

I'm not sure if there's an issue with wordpress or not -- MySpace, for instance, will strip out any linking to xPeeps or PornoTube, making the links unusable. But if xTube is still OK, then that may not be the problem.

If you're grabbing the HTML code from the media page on Pornotube, then it should embed and link in just fine. If you're trying to change the size, at this time our player doesn't scale down well, unfortunately. It's something we'll address in the future, but right now it's as-is.
